A cervical cancer screening list makes my mother, who has always been arrogant, at a loss! I thought I was terminally ill!
My mother has been menopausal for 3 years, and took her for gynecological B-ultrasound, cervical smear cytology and human papillomavirus typing.
B-ultrasound showed that the postmenopausal endometrium was not thick and there was a subserous myoma, about 65438±0cm. How to interpret this result? First of all, postmenopausal women should pay attention to the thickness of endometrium. Generally, the endometrium is very thin, no more than 0.5cm, and the uterine cavity is clean; Secondly, hysteromyoma is only 1cm, and there is no rich blood flow signal passing through it, which grows on the uterine surface. So I judged for myself that there was nothing wrong with my mother's B-ultrasound.
Yesterday morning, two other reports came out. Cervical smear showed atypical squamous epithelial cells, and the detection result of human papillomavirus was16,68 positive. How to interpret these two lists?
Firstly, the results of human papillomavirus typing test were analyzed. Human papillomavirus infection is divided into low-risk type, high-risk type and other types. Compared with other types, high-risk human papillomavirus infection runs fastest on the road of cervical cancer. However, this does not mean that if you are infected with high-risk human papillomavirus, it must be cervical cancer. There is no such inevitable causal relationship between the two, but high-risk human papillomavirus is the main factor leading to cervical cancer. Mom's report shows that 16 and 68 are positive, both of which are high-risk types and have been menopausal. At this time, my first reaction was to ask my mother to do colposcopy cervical biopsy and make pathological judgment.
Secondly, cervical smear cytology showed that atypical squamous epithelial cells could not be clearly defined. How to analyze this result? This suggests that there may be something wrong with the cervix, but it does not mean that it must be cervical cancer at present.
So, to sum up, I asked my mother to have a colposcopy cervical biopsy. If it develops into high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, then further follow-up operations such as cervical conization are needed. If it doesn't develop further, take medicine and continue to check it later.
When this result came out, as a family member and my mother's daughter, my first reaction was very nervous and worried, but from the perspective of an obstetrician, I was calm again. I just wanted my mother to have another examination. However, my mother has no medical knowledge, especially in this respect. She went to the hospital to get the report, and then went to the doctor to see the results herself. After listening to the doctor's detailed explanation, she was puzzled "That is to say, there is a great possibility of cervical cancer ..." My mother was frightened and called me to cry when she got home, saying, "I can't cure it either. There is no cure for this disease anyway. Your aunt is, how much did her two sons spend? " I will travel, eat, drink and live happily ... "It seems like an understatement, so I told my brother what happened after the two of us. In fact, from the patient's point of view, my mother really doesn't know what these two lists mean, so she equates them with cervical cancer directly! She thought she was terminally ill, and spent money to see a doctor, and in the end she lost her human and financial resources ... But, to take a step back, even if the final test result is really cervical cancer, will it be cured? The disease-free survival rate of early cervical cancer is very high, that is to say, even if you have cervical cancer, it is possible to live ten or twenty or even die as long as you find it early and treat it early!
Comfort mother carefully. Think about it. First, the annual routine physical examination is really too important. Don't think that you don't pay attention to your health! Second, treat diseases early! However, we must have a good attitude! I often tell patients that "three points depend on treatment and seven points depend on mentality". Sometimes many diseases are scared out, and many people are scared away as soon as they leave. ...
Finally, may every old man be treated gently by years!
