There is no requirement to buy things in Dali, and you can do without buying them. Article 35 of the Tourism Law stipulates that when organizing and receiving tourists, travel agencies shall not designate specific shopping places or arrange other paid tourism projects, unless the travel arrangements of other tourists are not affected by the agreement of both parties or the requirements of tourists.
