Chilean visa description: main visa types

Award: foreigners who come to Chile to visit relatives, travel or do business. Such visas are valid for a maximum of 90 days and can be extended once for a maximum of 90 days.

2. Temporary residence visa

It is awarded to foreigners who have relatives in Chile and come to Chile for professional activities or medical treatment. This visa is valid for up to one year and can be extended. After living in Zhi Zhi for 1 year, the holder may apply for long-term residence, but the cumulative residence in Zhi Zhi shall not be less than 180 days.

3. Study visa

Target audience: foreigners studying in Chile. The visa is valid for a maximum of one year and can be extended until the expiration of the study period. The validity period of student visas enjoying scholarships is determined according to relevant agreements.

4. Employee visa

Issued to: foreigners who come to Chile to perform work contracts. They can only engage in relevant activities stipulated in the contract, and the employer must live in Chile. This visa is valid for up to two years and can be extended. Holders can only apply for long-term residence if they have lived in Chile for 2 years.

5. Immigrant visa

The holder can stay in Chile indefinitely and engage in all paid activities, especially land reclamation, agriculture or industry.
