When Qianlong went to the south of the Yangtze River, his first stop after coming out of Beijing was Zhuozhou. He rested outside the south gate of Zhuozhou, met with local officials, and wrote the inscription "The sun is rushing to an unparalleled place, and the world is the most troubled state." From then on, Zhuozhou people regarded themselves as the best state in the world and were complacent. This couplet has always been in a pavilion beside the official road in the south of the old county town of Zhuozhou. It was later destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. The current archway was built five or six years ago. After passing the grand archway of the First State in the World, we headed west. Not far away, we saw this imitation of the Eiffel Tower. This tower was built in 2002 to a 1/7 scale of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It’s no surprise that China’s city builders lack imagination. At least there is one more landmark. This is the former residence of Li Daoyuan. In a small village south of the county, Li Daoyuan was born here. This is the place where Liu Guan and Zhang Taoyuan were sworn brothers. Zhang Fei sold meat here. Zhang Fei Temple was built hundreds of years ago and was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. The current temple was rebuilt on the original site in the 1990s, and the entrance fee is 20 yuan. There is a statue of Zhang Fei inside, nothing interesting to see. There are several stone tablets from past dynasties that are real antiques.
