Quanzhou, also known as Licheng and Erythrina, is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese in China and the ancestral home of Taiwan Province compatriots. Although Quanzhou is one of the three central cities in Fujian Province, it seems to have been ignored by us. Quanzhou is called the "Museum of World Religions". There are more than ten religions such as Taoism, Buddhism and Islam, and temples, temples, courtyards and churches are all over the ancient city. The picture shows the landmark building of Quanzhou-West Street Bell Tower, which was built in the 23rd year of the Republic of China, namely 1934.
Quanzhou Theatre, located at No.20 West Street, was founded in 1958. Its main building is magnificent and full of Minnan characteristics. From my experience, living around here is the most fun. There are many express hotels around, and there are also youth hostels and several homestays in West Street, so people are "rich and frugal". After finding a good place to live, let's start our dream trip to Quanzhou.
Let's play, let's get closer first and then farther. Let's go to the West Street in front of our house first. These scenic spots can basically be visited on foot. The religions in Quanzhou or the religions active here in history include almost all the major religions in the world, such as Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Nestorianism, Catholicism, Christianity, Manichaeism, Hinduism and Judaism. UNESCO designated Quanzhou as the world's first "World Multicultural Exhibition Center".
West Street is the earliest developed street and area in Quanzhou. As early as the Song Dynasty, it had already symbolized the prosperity of Quanzhou. It is also the most intact ancient block in Quanzhou, with a large number of buildings with historical original appearance. There are more than 20 cultural relics protection units at all levels in West Street, which belong to ancient buildings, ancient sites, stone carvings and other categories. There are also 12 ancient buildings and houses that are not listed in the grade but are well protected, and have been opened. By the way, don't forget to go to the tourist center in the middle of West Street, where there is an observation deck with a panoramic view of the wonders of the Kaiyuan Temple Twin Towers.
The oldest Buddhist building in West Street is this Kaiyuan Temple. Kaiyuan Temple is the largest Buddhist temple in Fujian Province. Founded in the second year of Tang Dynasty (686), it was originally named Lotus Dojo, and renamed Kaiyuan Temple in the 26th year of Kaiyuan (738). The main existing temples were built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Kaiyuan Temple is a place that every visitor to Quanzhou can't miss, and it is free to visit.
After visiting West Street, we will go to East Street. Quanzhou Zhuangyuan Street, located in the back street of East Street in Licheng District, is a pedestrian street. Zhuangyuan Street connects Zhongshan Road in the west, East Street in the north, and a mysterious temple in the middle. It is known as the first street in Bamin with its unique archway in Quanzhou, and Xu Hui, the champion of Quanzhou in the Tang Dynasty, was the first champion in the history of Bamin (that is, Fujian). In particular, students should take photos with the street sign Zhuangyuan Street 100 to win prizes.
In the middle of Zhuangyuan Street, you can reach the main entrance of Yunmiaoguan along Guandong Lane and around Xinfukou, East Street. Yuanming Temple, commonly known as "Tiangong Temple", was founded in the Taikang period of the Western Jin Dynasty (280-289), formerly known as Baiyun Temple. It is the first Taoist temple built after Taoism was introduced into Quanzhou and Fujian. During the Spring Festival, it is very lively here. Everyone is so happy to "drill money" and pray together.
Let's go to Chengtian Temple not far away. Chengtian Temple, also known as Platform Temple, was a southern garden in the Five Dynasties. During the weekend Xiande period (954-960), it was converted into a Buddhist temple, initially named "nanzenji". In the fourth year of Song Jingde (1007), it was named "Chengtian Temple". During the reign of Song Jiayou (1056-1063), it was renamed as Nengren Temple, and in the seventh year of Zhenghe (117), it was renamed as Chengtian Temple. What impressed me most was that it was the incarnation of Master Hongyi. You must know Master Hongyi. He is the lyricist of the song Farewell, which has been widely sung so far. "Outside the pavilion, beside the ancient road, the grass is blue and the sky is blue ..." Is this a melody you are familiar with?
Ladies and gentlemen, do you feel the charm of the World Religious Museum? Not yet? Don't worry, we'll go to Tianhou Palace again. Tianhou Palace in Quanzhou, located atNo. 1, Tianhou Road, South Gate of Quanzhou, was founded in the second year of Song Qingyuan (A.D. 1 196). Quanzhou is the highest peak of China's overseas trade-the largest port in Song and Yuan Dynasties. Mazu was introduced to Quanzhou Port, where overseas traffic is developed, and became the sea god of Quanzhou. Due to the development of water transportation and overseas traffic, it has become a national sea god and spread overseas. The official temple palace site was built.
In the quiet side street opposite Tianhou Palace, there is a former residence of Li Zhi. The former residence is located in Wanshou Road, South Gate, Licheng District, Quanzhou. It is the place where Li Zhi, an outstanding thinker in Ming Dynasty, lived in his youth. Later generations changed his bedroom into an ancestral temple. In recent years, it has been renovated and Li Zhi's portrait has been hung indoors for viewing.
The two temples on Tumen Street in Quanzhou are very interesting. A mosque and a Guandi Temple became good neighbors. Quanzhou "Jing Qing Temple" is the oldest surviving Islamic temple site in China. Founded in a.d. 1009, it has a history of thousands of years. It is modeled after the Islamic chapel in Damascus, Syria. Like Kaiyuan Temple, Jing Qing Temple is also a national key cultural relic protection unit and the first batch of protection units announced by 196 1.
Next to Jing Qing Temple is Guandi Temple, which shows the diversity of Quanzhou culture. It is a Taoist temple, commonly known as Guandi Temple. Because the Lord worships Guan as a king, he is attached to the King of Yue. Quanzhou Guandi Temple was built in the Song Dynasty, covering an area of more than two acres. It consists of the main temple, the left and right Sanyi Temple and the Chongxian Temple, each with a front hall and a main hall, and then a new antique building is built. The incense in the temple is flourishing all the year round, and its followers are as far away as Southeast Asia and Taiwan Province Province.
The religious and cultural visit to the main city has come to an end for the time being, so let's go further. In fact, Luoyang Bridge in Quanzhou is not far away. Take a bus near the West Street Bell Tower, and it takes about an hour to get to Luoyang Bridge. Quanzhou Luoyang Bridge, also known as Wan 'an Bridge, is a masterpiece of ancient bridge architecture. Located on the banks of Luoyang River in the northeast of Quanzhou, it was built in the fifth year of Song Dynasty (1053) and completed in the fourth year of Jiayou (1059) for six years. The bridge is 834 meters long and 7 meters wide. There are two pavilions, two stone generals and five stone pagodas on the bridge.
Why is the bridge in Quanzhou called "Luoyang Bridge"? It turned out that in the early years of the Tang Dynasty, due to social unrest, wars broke out from time to time, and a large number of people from the Central Plains moved south. After these people moved in, they brought advanced and developed agricultural technology and experience from the Central Plains and guided local people to reclaim and develop. They came to Quanzhou and saw that the mountains and rivers here were very similar to the ancient capital Luoyang, so they named this place Luoyang, hence the name of this bridge. The old streets on both sides of Luoyang Bridge are also worth playing slowly.
Qingyuan Mountain Scenic Area is also a must-punch place, and it is very convenient for the bus to arrive. Qingyuan Mountain is a national key scenic spot, and there are many bus lines that can directly reach the scenic spot. Fiona Fang is a scenic spot of Qingyuan Mountain, located at 40 degrees in Li Long, with its main peak 498 meters above sea level. It is close to the mountain city of Quanzhou and reflects each other, just like a bright pearl in the famous city of Quanzhou, shining with dazzling light and attracting many overseas tourists.
The most famous statue of the old gentleman in Qingyuan Mountain has the reputation of "Laozi is the best in the world". The stone statue is 5.63 meters high, 6.85 meters thick, 8.0 1 meter wide and covers an area of 55 meters. Because it is the largest existing Taoist stone carving in China with the most unique carving skills and the oldest age, people in the field of literature and history nicknamed it "Laozi is the best in the world", which is worthy of the name.
Chongwu ancient city is worth a visit, a little far away. You need to take a bus from Quanzhou Bus Terminal to Chongwu County. The fare is 15 yuan. The bus stops at a street in the county, and the conductor will tell you the entrance to the ancient city. This is the main entrance of the scenic spot, and the adult ticket of the ancient city is 45 yuan.
Chongwu Ancient City was built in the 20th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1387). It is a coastal fortress for military defense against pirates and Japanese pirates. The ancient city has gatehouses in all directions and lighthouses by the sea. The whole ancient city is made of white granite, 7 meters high and 2,456 meters long. There are four city gates, and there are beacon towers, arrow windows, towers and watchtowers on the city. It is a relatively complete military defense project. It is the only remaining granite stone city in China.
The whole park of Chongwu Ancient City is about 1.200m long and 60-200m wide, covering an area of about 9 hectares. The terrain is undulating and orderly, and the stone paths in the park are vertical and horizontal, with green patches. There are 25 scenic spots, including four classic masterpieces created by many famous artists and craftsmen in Chongwu Town, the famous hometown of stone carving in China, and more than 500 stone carvings with more than 20 themes, such as Fable Garden, Chinese Soul, Huinv Paradise, Chinese Zodiac, Black Cat and White Cat.
For me, the most interesting thing is Haimen village after going out from the south gate of Chongwu ancient city, which is a free scenic spot. There are many historical sites in Haimen ancient village, including Drinking Well, Laoquanquan, Beijialou, Wei, Lin Shubo's former residence, Sihupu, Yongquanjing, Zhanqun, Xiushanlou, Lu Binxi, Hou Bolin's former residence and temple ruins. This ancient village is a maze. I walked around it for two hours and finally lost myself. It's embarrassing.
Sturgeon Village has distinctive features and must be visited. Take bus 1 from West Street Bell Tower to Xunpu Village, about 1 hour. Get off at Green Company Station and walk to Xunpu Village. Xunpu Village (now Xunpu Community) was originally named Qianpu Village. Later, on Mazu's mother's birthday, the villagers of Yangdai Village in Jinjiang jointly presented a satin account, inadvertently writing "Qianpu" as "Sturgeon Woman". The villagers also believe that this place is rich in red sturgeon and shrimp, and it is more appropriate to name it after the sturgeon woman. Therefore, the village name of "Sturgeon Woman" has been used to this day.
When you come to Xunpu Village, you must find some Beibei to have a good stroll. Up to now, there are more than a dozen complete shells in Xunpu Village. In ancient times, sturgeon people used seashells of the sea as building materials to build unique shells, thus achieving an architectural miracle. The technique of building a shell wall is exquisite. This kind of clam shell is beautiful in appearance and has the effect of warming in winter and cooling in summer.
The headdress of Xunpu wreath girl is very unique and can be seen everywhere in Xunpu Village. Early sturgeon girls had long hair when they were young. When they were eleven or twelve years old, they put it on the back of their heads, tied it with red rope and combed it into a bun. Then they put on a "bone bun" and strung flower buds into garlands, ranging from one or two rings to four or five rings. Then they put it on their heads, and the bun is the heart of the garden. Then, around the bun, symmetrically insert several bright red and pink bun flowers, silk flower or flowers, and then insert two-legged hairpins or combs made of gold or silver. Make the whole head look like a small flower bed full of spring, beautiful and fragrant. This is the "wreath" called "the garden on the head".
There are many delicious foods in Quanzhou. The top ten most representative snacks are batter, roasted dumplings, frozen bamboo shoots, ginger duck, vinegar-preserved meat, radish rice, fried oysters, Chinese hamburger, beef soup and four fruit soup. Forget it, it's too delicious. Try them all.
Unexpectedly, Quanzhou, a neighbor of Xiamen that has been neglected, is so rich in tourism resources. So, here's the problem. How long does it take to visit Quanzhou? My suggestion is to play slowly for at least a week and ten days. It seems that the most extravagant thing in traveling is not money, but time.
