Brief introduction of Ningyuan ancient city
This is the earliest origin of the name Xingcheng. At that time, it was as unknown as many small towns with the same fate. It was not until Zhu Chengzu of the Ming Dynasty left Fengyang that the famous Tang Tazhu of the Han Dynasty began to overhaul the castles and platforms of cities around the country for defense. In the third year of Xuande in Ming Dynasty, Wu Kai, the company commander, and Bao Huaide, the imperial capital, built the Ningyuan Acropolis, ceded territory to Jinzhou and Ruizhou, and set up the Ningyuan Acropolis north of Cao Zhuang and Tang Di. This is the earliest origin of the name Ningyuan.
Approved in the same year, construction started in the same year. In the fifth year of Xuande in Ming Dynasty, Jianning Yuancheng was divided into inner and outer cities. About the statement that the outer city is located one mile outside each inner city gate, which is equivalent to five miles around the inner city and nine miles around the outer city. There are four gates in the outer city, Anyuan in the east, Yongqing in the south, money in the west and Dading in the north. There are four inner city gates, which are called He Chun in the east, Yan Hui in the south, Yongning in the west and Weiyuan in the north. After Jiao Lizhong built the streets in the city, bells and drums were built on the second floor.

There are also two ancestral stone workshops in the city, namely, the City God Temple, the Du Shi House in Jilin Province and the Zhou Jia House. Many shops in Xingcheng still keep gold-lettered plaques engraved with patterns, which are elegant and antique. Historical and cultural museums, such as Xingcheng Folk Museum and Ningyuan Post Station, have also added tourism interest to the town.
Xingcheng Confucian Temple, a national key cultural relic protection unit, is located in the ancient city scenic area. It is the oldest preserved Confucian temple in the three northeastern provinces, covering an area of 1.68 million square meters. Including the Champion Gate, Champion Bridge, Dacheng Hall, Wall of Analects of Confucius, Holy Map, and other plant wonders such as Cooper, Tung Tree and Wotong.
