Where is Tianbao Port?

Tianbao Port is located in Tianbao Town, the southern end of Malipo County, Wenshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province.

Tianbao Port is located in Tianbao Town, at the foot of Laoshan, at the southern end of Malipo County, Wenshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province, adjacent to the Qingshui River Port in Hajiang City, Hajiang Province, Vietnam. The road from Wenshan, where the state capital is located, to Tianbao Port is connected to Vietnam's National Highway No. 2. The port is 40 kilometers away from Malipo County inward, 120 kilometers away from Wenshan, the seat of the state capital, 420 kilometers away from the provincial capital Kunming, 24 kilometers away from Hajiang Provincial City in Vietnam, 340 kilometers away from Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, and 410 kilometers away from Haiphong Port in Vietnam.

History

Tianbao Port was first officially established on April 20, the 23rd year of Guangxu (May 20, 1879). At the beginning of the last century, it became an important port for trade between Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Guangxi, Guangdong and Vietnam.

In March 1954, the People's Republic of China established a customs supervision station and border inspection station in Tianbao, and designated Tianbao as a trade port with Vietnam.

In February 1993, the State Council approved the restoration of Tianbao Port as a national first-class port.

In March 1998, vehicle interoperability between Wenshan, China and Hajiang, Vietnam was realized, creating a better foundation and conditions for the development of trade and tourism between China and Vietnam.
