When is the off-season in Mount Putuo?

The peak season in Putuo Mountain is from February to November, and the low season is from December to January of the following year.

Putuo Mountain’s peak season is from June to September, when students are on vacation and summer tourism is booming. Devoted men and women will come to worship according to religious festivals. They will specially choose three days to go to the island: February 19th is the birthday of Guanyin Bodhisattva, June 19th is the day when the Bodhisattva attains enlightenment, and September 19th is the day when the Bodhisattva becomes a monk. During these three days, there will be a large number of pilgrims. Go to the island.

Putuo Mountain is the dojo of Guanyin Bodhisattva and is known as the "Buddha Land of the Sea and Sky". The entire island is in the shape of a long strip. The scenic spots are mainly distributed in three areas centered on Puji Temple, Nanhai Guanyin, and Foding Mountain. It takes about half a day to visit each area. Sea Guanyin is the landmark building on the island, but Guanyin Hall has the most legendary legend of Putuo Mountain and cannot be missed.

Precautions for visiting Mount Putuo

1. Mount Putuo is a Buddhist holy land and Buddhist beliefs need to be respected. Photography is not allowed in all temples.

2. If you want to go to Zhujiajian for a day while visiting Putuo Mountain, you can ask the staff to register when you leave the island, so that you don’t need to buy tickets on your return trip.

3. If you want to swim and play at the beach of Putuo Mountain, it is best to bring your swimsuit in advance, as it will be more expensive to buy it on the island.

4. There will be many tourists in Putuo Mountain on weekends or holidays. If conditions permit, try to travel off-peak.
