Autumn is a season suitable for outdoor sports, especially mountain climbing. The mountains are stained with color, red and yellow everywhere. Walking in such nature can completely relax your body and mind. As a famous tourist city in China, the scenery of Hangzhou is not just the West Lake, because it is surrounded by mountains on three sides, so the West Lake is particularly beautiful. This geographical feature also gives the West Lake another choice in autumn. Many hiking routes make it want to travel in depth.

Because I live in Hangzhou, I often go outdoors on weekends, and almost all the mountains around the West Lake have been climbed. In fact, when it comes to climbing routes in Hangzhou, there is a recognized number 1, which is Shili Langling. As the name implies, the total length of this road is about 5 kilometers. Since it is named "Ling", it can be seen that it is above a high ridge, and both sides of the road are scenic spots.

There are many hiking routes around the West Lake, which will be introduced slowly in the future. According to my personal experience, I recommend a route suitable for newcomers, with moderate intensity, connecting Yun Qi Bamboo Trail, Longjing Tea Garden, Lingyin Zen and other famous scenic spots in series along the way. The specific route is (both sides): Yun Qi Zhujing-Wuyunshan-Zhen Ji Temple-Langya Ridge-Longjing Village-Shangtianzhu.

Yun Qi Bamboo Trail is one of the nine scenic spots of the new West Lake. It is said that as early as the Yongzheng period in the Qing Dynasty, the bamboo trail landscape in Yun Qi only refers to the wooded mountain dock landscape, ancient temples in the mountains and the sound of bamboo trails in Yun Qi dock. Nowadays, Yun Qi Pier is shaded by bamboo, streams are gurgling, charming and beautiful birds are singing from the forest, and the environment is quiet and cool.

It can be said that there is no more "quiet" bamboo forest in Hangzhou than in Yun Qi. It is far from the West Lake and the traffic is not very convenient, so there are not many people playing. The green slate in the center of the bamboo path is separated from the pebbles on both sides by black brick. This is the Imperial Road, which is said to be dedicated to Kangxi Qianlong. The deepest ancient temple in Yun Qi was built by Wu Yueguo in the fifth year of Song Gande (AD 967).

Choosing this place to go up the mountain, besides the ticket to 8 yuan, also has a disadvantage that the mountain road is steep, with about 1500 steps continuously. The advantage is that it is faster and you can enjoy the scenery of bamboo forests. If you have time, of course, you can choose to go up the mountain from Jiuxi archway, and the route takes about an hour.

The ancient ginkgo with a tree age of 1500 years is located at the top of Wuyun Mountain and is the "oldest" ginkgo tree in Hangzhou. After thousands of years, the old trees have grown old and the branches and leaves are not so lush. The tree is covered with red blessing strips, which represent the wishes of everyone who comes here. Besides, there are Baoshi Mountain and Ginkgo Park in Zhao Hui, as well as the best places to watch ginkgo in Hangzhou.

The ancient tree is 2 1 m high and 2.45 m in DBH. Its bark is mottled and its trunk is hollow. There is a heather and a water wax on the trunk, and many branches of different sizes sprout around the base of the tree, which looks like a "full house of children and grandchildren". Historically, this tree has experienced many hardships. It was struck by lightning and burned many times. Especially in 1970s, when a middle school student was camping and boarding at Zhen Ji Temple, an accident caused a fire and some tree trunks were severely burned. Until today, the traces of burning still exist, which is sad.

At the top of Wuyun Mountain, there is a site of Zhen Ji Temple, and the fifth "Xiangyun" pattern of Wuyun Mountain is in the back garden of the temple. Wuyun Mountain, 334 meters above sea level, is a "master" among the mountains around the West Lake. According to legend, there are often five-color clouds hovering on the top of the mountain, hence the name "Five Clouds".

Every time I come to Wuyun Mountain, I will visit the backyard of the temple. In my impression, this is the place where vegetables are grown in the TV series Water Margin. It is the Mid-Autumn Festival, and several ginkgo trees in the backyard have begun to change color. The tall and straight branches are in sharp contrast with the old trees outside. I still remember climbing a mountain after snow one year, and the scenery wrapped in silver here surprised me.

Langlangling, also known as Langlangling, originally refers to the mountainous area east of Tianzhu, west of Longjing Village and northeast of meijiawu Village. It is customary to call the hills from Wuyun Mountain in the south to Tianzhu in the north "Langdangling". Because the mountain winds about ten miles, it is also called "ten miles lang dang" It is the highest and longest mountain in the West Lake, with an average elevation of more than 200 meters.

Starting from Zhen Ji Temple at the top of Wuyunshan Mountain, heading for Longjing, the initial section is called Wanlinbei Mountain, which is the shady side of the mountain as the name implies, and the view is very poor. But after meijiawu Tea Garden, we gradually entered the open Ling Road, with endless tea gardens on both sides, and the most beautiful section was in Longjing Village.

Looking up at Longjing Village in autumn, the terraced tea garden is red and green in the warm sun, giving people a good picture of the autumn colors of the tea garden. Su Causeway, Bai Causeway and the three islands in the lake can be seen in the distance, which is the commanding height of the West Lake after the North Peak.

Longjing tea, which is as famous as the West Lake, is another beautiful business card in Hangzhou, and Longjing Village, which is endowed with unique advantages, is famous for its tea at home and abroad. Located in the southwest of West Lake, surrounded by mountains, it has a permanent population of more than 800 people and nearly 800 acres of alpine tea gardens. When Emperor Chuanganlong went down to the south of the Yangtze River, he went to Gong Hu Temple under Lion Peak in Longjing Village to taste Longjing tea. After drinking it, he was full of praise and named the 18 tea tree in front of the temple "Longjing Tea".

Langdangling passes through Longjing Village. After Longjing, you can continue to Beifeng, or you can choose to go down to Shangtianzhu. This is a fork in the road. If this road goes straight ahead, you can go to Laoheshan.

From Longjing Mountain to Tianzhu, and along Tianzhu Road to Lingyin Temple, it is the most beautiful temple incense-seeking road in Hangzhou. The stream is gurgling, the trees are dancing and the temples are jingling. Although the journey is near the end, you won't feel tired. Faxi Temple, Fajing Temple and Fajing Temple along the way are the three major temples in Tianzhu. Those who like to visit temples can go in and see them one by one. Faxi Temple is especially recommended.

The destination is Lingyin Temple, the most famous temple in Hangzhou. There is no need to introduce it here. The main reason for choosing to end here is convenient transportation. In fact, in Hangzhou, my favorite temple is yongfu temple, next door to Lingyin Temple. Its scenery and scale are not worse than Lingyin Temple, which is crowded with people. It is especially suitable for sightseeing after snow in spring, autumn and winter.

There is no supply on the mountain road, please bring your own dry food. If you just want to climb a mountain, it is suggested to go up from Shangtianzhu, down from Yun Qi Bamboo Trail, or up from Jiuxi and down to Tianzhu. If you don't want to walk too much, you can take a bus directly to Longjing Village, then walk from the back of the village to the ridge and climb up to overlook it. This is the simplest and most basic route.
