Visit Lijiang Shuhe Ancient Town

Although I have been to Kunming twice on business trips in the past, it was work after all, not tourism. I knew there was an ancient town in Lijiang, but I didn’t know there was an ancient town in Shuhe. The purpose of going to Kunming this time is to have fun. If you have enough preparation and time, you must visit the ancient town.

The Shuhe residential complex is an important part of the World Cultural Heritage Lijiang Old Town. Its protection scope is 82.9 hectares and its heritage area is 14.6 hectares. Shuhe Ancient Town was rebuilt according to the original architectural style after the earthquake in the late 1990s. There are very few residents here, and most of them have moved out. They are mainly Naxi people, and there are some shops in the scenic area. Strolling in the ancient town, you will see small bridges, flowing water, surrounded by flowers and trees, and the unique and elegant architectural style seems ancient and mysterious. The environment is very quiet, with a feeling of a Jiangnan water town.
