Decision on abolition of the "Implementation Measures for the Management of Tour Guides"

Further promote the streamlining of administration and delegating power, optimizing public services, stimulating market vitality, implementing the Tourism Law, and promoting the reform of the tour guide management system and mechanism. According to the "Notice of the General Office of the State Council on Matters Related to Cleaning Up the Rules and Documents of Administrative Regulations Departments" (State Office Letter [2016] No. 12), the National Tourism Administration decided to abolish the "Tourist Guide" issued by the National Tourism Administration Order No. 15 on December 27, 2001 and amended by the National Tourism Administration Order No. 21 on June 3, 2005. From the date of the announcement of this decision, the pre-job training and assessment system for tour guides, the scoring management system, the annual review management system and the three-year validity system for tour guide qualification certificates stipulated in the "Implementation Measures for the Management of Tour Guides" Once the implementation is suspended, the National Tourism Administration will gradually improve the interim and ex-post supervision measures and strengthen supervision based on the advancement of the reform of the tour guide management system and mechanism.

This decision will take effect from the date of announcement.
