Definition of Suleiman Mountains

The mountains of central Pakistan. It extends from the Gumal pass south to a short distance north of Jacobabad, about 450 kilometers (280 miles) long. Separate North-Western Frontier Province, Punjab and Balochistan. The mountain is high in the north and low in the south, with an average peak height of 1,800 to 2,100 meters (6,000 to 7,000 feet). The highest peak is the twin peaks Takht-i-Sulaiman (related to the legend of Solomon's visit to Hindustan). The higher peak is 5,633 meters (18,481 feet) above sea level. Many people come to Ziyarat (holy temple) for pilgrimage every year. There are many junipers and pine trees in the north, olive trees in the middle, and sparse vegetation in the south.
