There are nearly 8,000 pieces of cultural relics in the collection, mainly historical relics, revolutionary cultural relics and overseas Chinese cultural relics unearthed in Zhongshan from the Neolithic Age to the end of the Qing Dynasty. Shishan Marine Erosion Site is located in the west of Shi Sheng Village, Shaxi County. According to the research of He, the late geography expert of Zhongshan, Guangdong Institute of Geography, China Academy of Sciences, this site is one of two marine erosion sites in Zhongshan, which belongs to the ancient sea landform formed by crustal changes 5,000 years ago and belongs to Cretaceous red sandstone gravel geology. Its submarine caves, cliffs and platforms are the most complete geological specimens in the existing marine erosion sites in the Pearl River Delta. The existing site covers an area of 75 mu, about 5,000 square meters, with an altitude of 29.4 meters. The original Ming Pavilion and Sanxianniang Temple at the foot of the mountain have been destroyed, and only a small temple rebuilt in 1990 is left, in which there is a calligraphy written by Peng Binggang (Zhongshan Lion, a famous educator and calligrapher), the imperial examination official of Guangxu Wu Jia period (1894).
