This journal is an authoritative journal of tourism management, with high quality of published papers and peer review. The general process is preliminary review ~ external review (there will be at least two external experts) ~ draft withdrawal ~ review ~ final review. Among them, exit and review may be iterative.

According to statistics, the first-instance rejection rate is over 80%. The external audit cycle is long and the external audit is not synchronized. Generally, feedback is given to the author after receiving all the opinions of external auditors (if the time interval between different external auditors is too long, you can call for advice and look at other opinions first). Tourism-related articles are basically accepted, and scholars in sociology, economics, anthropology and other professional directions have also contributed a lot. Regular review is particularly strict. Compared with economic geography, Journal of Tourism will pass the preliminary examination more easily (with the increase of manuscript delivery, the preliminary examination will be stricter, and articles with repetition rate exceeding 10% will be rejected directly, but the probability of submitting again after modifying the repetition rate is higher). The preliminary examination is usually completed within half a month.

In the process of external audit, journals are submitted one by one. The time for external auditors is one month (I have also been a reviewer of this magazine, and it is said that if two articles in the same field are published in this magazine, I will become a reviewer with great probability). Only when the first reviewer does not reject the manuscript will it be sent to the second reviewer. If there are differences between the first reviewer and the second reviewer, they will be sent to the third reviewer. The reviewer may forget to review the manuscript. The reviewers are very strict in reviewing the manuscript, and the quality of the article really needs to be very high, and it has been revised many times to a great extent (I published three articles, only one of which was revised once and was hired, and the other two were revised at least three times).

The editor-in-chief fully respects the opinions of reviewers, indicating that the rejection rate of the editor-in-chief is not high. From recruitment to release, it takes patience. The publishing cycle is not fixed. If you want to hurry, the editor will usually agree.
