Since then, from May 3 to May 6 every year, the opening ceremony of mountaineering festival and mountaineering competition have been held regularly in Taishi Mountain Scenic Area, Dengfeng City, Henan Province.

The holding of Songshan International Mountaineering Festival has effectively promoted the integration and development of local sports and tourism, better displayed the new features of Zhengzhou and Dengfeng, the ancient cultural capitals, and played a positive role in accelerating the construction of a world famous historical and cultural city and an international tourist destination city of Shaolin Kungfu.

The event was hosted by chinese mountaineering association and Provincial Sports Bureau, and undertaken by Provincial Social Sports Management Center, Zhengzhou Sports Bureau and Dengfeng Municipal People's Government. The scale of the event is as high as 5000 people.
