Is it true that Zhoushan Shipyard will build the first luxury cruise ship?

After a year of full preparation, Zhoushan Tsuneishi Shipbuilding is about to officially start construction of the first luxury cruise ship, becoming another new member to join the Chinese cruise ship building club.

According to Japanese media, Japan’s Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Group has received an order for a luxury cruise ship and will enter the cruise ship construction market. The cruise ship will be built at its Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. in Zhoushan, and the first cruise ship is expected to be delivered in the first half of 2020.

Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned enterprise invested by the Japanese Tsuneishi Group in Xiushan, Zhoushan. The company was established in December 2003. It mainly builds ships of less than 100,000 tons. Since the first complete ship was built in 2007, Zhoushan Tsuneishi Shipbuilding has built and delivered more than 160 ships so far. Its goal is to strive to become one of the most competitive shipbuilding companies in China and even the world.

At the same time, in order to cater to the preferences of Chinese tourists, Tsuneishi Shipbuilding established design offices in Shanghai and Zhejiang Province, recruiting ship designers who can design according to Chinese tastes.
