Beautiful articles on travel mood (Yunnan) - "Lijiang ③ Jade Dragon Snow Mountain"

Our last stop in Lijiang is Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Just like going to Lashihai in the previous article, I booked the "One-day Tour of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Cableway" at Mafengwo, which cost 480 yuan per person, including admission tickets, cable car tickets, round-trip transfers, environmentally friendly vehicles in the scenic area, and down jackets. and oxygen bottles, saving worry and effort. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is called "Oulu" in Naxi language, which means "silver rock". It consists of 12 snow-capped peaks. The highest peak is Fanzhidao, with an altitude of 5,596 meters. It is shrouded in clouds and mist all year round, and there is no recognized record of climbing to the top. It is said that there are climbing records and briefings from Americans in 1987, but no summit photos have been seen, so the main peak of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is still an unconquered virgin peak.

It has been emphasized many times in online information that Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is the southernmost snow mountain in China and the lowest latitude and highest mountain in the northern hemisphere in the world. However, it is said that this point does not stand up to scrutiny, so I understand. Just don't take it seriously. Every place, every nation, every country has its own story. In myths and legends, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is the sacred mountain of the Naxi people and the incarnation of the Naxi protective god "Sanduo". However, thousands of years have passed, and this is limited to legend.

Our group is a pure play group of 8 people. The person who picked us up in the morning was a van that can accommodate 8 people. The driver is a female driver, but her driving skills are very good and the car drives very steadily. However, the closer you get to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the higher the altitude, and you will feel somewhat uncomfortable in the car. After collecting our tickets and equipment, we queued up to enter the mountain. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is also like many five-star mountain scenic spots in mainland China. You need to take a bus to the middle of the mountain and then transfer to the cable car to the top of the mountain. Fortunately, it was our turn not long after queuing. Before we came, we were worried that it would be difficult to enter the mountain due to crowds of people, as said online. It seemed that God was still favoring us.

The large ropeway of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is 2,914 meters long and has an average altitude of more than 4,000 meters. It is one of the highest tourist passenger ropeways in my country. We took the bus in the scenic area to Ganmeizi Snow Mountain Villa and transferred to the large cable car. Ganmeizi Snow Villa is the starting point of the big ropeway, a dense virgin forest with an altitude of 3356 meters. When you line up to enter the ropeway, you will see a large stone tablet with this number engraved on it. There are many tourists taking pictures around. After we took the food and sat on the big ropeway, he felt a little uncomfortable, but I didn't care at the time, but I regretted it later.

The end point of the ropeway is right below the main peak of the snow-capped mountain. After we get here, we have to climb another section to reach the highest viewing platform. The end point of the cableway is already the most famous attraction of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, "Glacier Park". Glacier Park is a landform relic formed by Quaternary glaciers. It is known as the "Lucerne Glass Palace" and is 4,506 meters above sea level. We stopped and walked all the way, not daring to go fast. Along the way, I saw many people with severe high fever who could not make it to the finish line, and even some people whose hearts couldn't stand it just after getting off the big ropeway. He took the food and I took the oxygen bottle. We walked a few steps and took a sip. I felt fine. Near the end, there is a tall and long staircase with a handrail in the middle and passages on both sides for pedestrians to go up and down. This staircase is a bit like the stairs in the Badaling Great Wall in Beijing. It is very long and steep. We took a final rest under the stairs, ate all the food, and then climbed up in one go. Not far away was the observation deck. This is the highest place in Glacier Park, with an altitude of 4680 meters. We have arrived.

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain has been over-developed all year round, and the number of tourists it receives has far exceeded its capacity. Coupled with global warming, the snow belt is constantly moving upwards, and places that should have been covered with snow have gradually revealed the original color of the mountains. Even so, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is still very beautiful, and there is a clean coldness in the air. We took many photos on it before we came down.

The next stop is Blue Moon Valley. In fact, there are many scenic spots in Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, but three of the more famous ones are Glacier Park, Yunshanping and Blue Moon Valley. With an altitude of more than 3,000 meters, Blue Moon Valley is the only place in Yunnan that can rival Jiuzhaigou Valley. It has beautiful scenery that is not inferior to Jiuzhaigou Valley. Its predecessor was the "Baishui River" known to people earlier. The river bed is made of white limestone, which gives the entire river a white sheen, hence the name "White Water River". The water of Baishui River comes from the melted snow of glaciers at an altitude of 5,000 meters. The water of the river changes color due to weather changes. It is milky white on sunny days and turns sky blue on rainy days, so it is also called Blue Moon Valley. The British writer James Hilton's "Lost Horizon" mentions this place, called Blue Moon Valley. Wearing a colorful long skirt I bought from the ancient town of Lijiang, I sat on a piece of free land and looked at the water quietly. The sunlight was shining down, which was particularly gentle.

What you hear is always the experience of others, only what you see with your own eyes is your own wonderful experience. How lucky that this wonderful thing belongs to the two of us. He stayed with me until the last moment. On the way back, I felt very uncomfortable when I saw him feeling so miserable. But I still couldn't help but quarrel with him and let him go to the hospital to buy medicine by himself. I regret it very much. Later, I learned that the cold mixed with high fever caused him to suffer from severe otitis media and he was in great pain. I was always unwilling to bow my head or accommodate myself, but what followed was heart-wrenching regret over the past six months, which made me feel very distressed. Really, I'm sorry, will you forgive me?
