What are the hiking routes on Yuanbao Mountain in Liuzhou?

Yuanbao Mountain in Liuzhou is not a popular attraction, but many climbers may choose to climb here. Traversing the hiking trails here is actually difficult. If you want to visit, be sure to prepare in advance. There are several hiking routes to choose from.

Introduction to the scenic spot

Yuanbaoshan is located in the northern part of Rongshui Miao Autonomous County, covering an area of ??250 square kilometers. The main peak, Qingyun Peak, is more than 2,000 meters above sea level. The mountain is steep and majestic, and the natural vegetation is distributed vertically. The 146-kilometer-long Bay River passes through the peaks and is characterized by "majestic, strange, dangerous, secluded, beautiful and wild". This is a natural animal and plant park.

Yuanbaoshan is a classic outdoor sports destination in Liuzhou. The forest park covers an area of ??nearly 300 square kilometers, and hikers have explored more than a dozen hiking routes. Yuanbao Mountain has four peaks, from south to north they are Yuanbao Peak, Qingyun Peak, Lanping and Baihuding, the third highest peak in Guangxi.

Recommended mountaineering routes

One of the most mature routes is from Pei Xiu Village to Blue Feng Ping. The route has a gentle slope and clear road signs. The road from Peixiu to Baiping (about 13 kilometers) has been opened to traffic, leaving less than 3 hours to reach the top of the mountain, and most people can complete the walk. There is an open-air camping ground at the entrance of Baiping, and there is a hotel in Baiping that provides simple food and accommodation.

To climb the highest peak, Qingyun Peak, you can enter Qingshan Village in Xiaosang Village. The journey from Qingshanzhai to Qingyun Peak is 1,200 meters above sea level and generally takes 7 to 8 hours. When descending from Qingyun Peak, you can go to Maoping Village at the eastern foot of Yuanbao Mountain (5-6 hours), and then take a bus back to Rongshui via Yubu Village. This route is physically demanding and suitable for experienced outdoor enthusiasts. Equally wild is the route from Yuanbao Village to Yuanbao Peak. This route is almost roadless and takes 7 to 8 hours to reach the summit. After reaching the top, you can also go down to Maoping Village.

The bigger challenge is to cross three peaks at the same time. It takes at least three days to set out from Rongshui County, and you need to carry camping equipment during the entire hiking process. Because there is no connection between the peaks, you need to go up and down repeatedly, which is actually very time-consuming and labor-intensive. It takes 6-7 hours from Yuanbao Peak to Qingyun Peak, and 4-5 hours from Qingyun Peak to Lanping Peak.

Try to avoid going alone and carry necessary medical drugs with you. The above routes, except from Baiping to Lanping Peak, are not recommended to go in depth. You must ask a fellow villager to be your guide (about 150 yuan/day).
