What are the classifications of marine tourism resources by nature?

Marine tourism resources refer to various natural, cultural and social phenomena that exist in the vast space of ocean and coastal zone, are attractive to tourists and can be used for tourism and produce certain benefits.

Marine tourism resources can be divided into two categories according to their nature: marine natural tourism resources and marine humanistic tourism resources; According to the spatial form, it can be divided into four types of tourism resources: coast, seabed, sea surface and island. Among them, coastal beaches, underwater creatures and island landscapes are the most attractive tourism resources.

Both natural marine tourism resources and humanistic marine tourism resources have different degrees of aesthetic appreciation value, scientific investigation value, ecological environment value and cultural inheritance value, and can be used by tourism to develop distinctive marine tourism products, such as seaside or island vacation, beach leisure, marine sports, marine cruise ships, etc. (see Figure 8- 1).
