About youth hostels in Macau

How to apply to stay in Macau Youth Hostel

Introduction:

The Macau Education and Youth Affairs Bureau has two youth hostels, namely Hac Sa Youth Hostel ( Hac-Sa Youth Hostel) and Cheok Van Youth Hostel.

Hac Sa Youth Hostel:

Address: Hac Sa New Road, Coloane (at the bottom of the slope of Hac Sa Beach)

Hotel facilities: three 16-person rooms, ten 4-person rooms, and six double rooms (each room has its own bathroom and toilet), kitchen (equipped with 2 refrigerators, Microwave ovens and rice bowls), air conditioners, televisions and barbecue grills.

Chuk Wan Youth Hostel:

Address: Feng Si Ku Street, Coloane (top of the slope of Chuk Wan Beach)

Hotel facilities: two 10-person large rooms and two double rooms, kitchen (equipped with 2 refrigerators, microwave oven and rice bowl), air-conditioning, TV, barbecue grill, private bathroom and toilet.

Check-in application details:

A. Fill in the application form (Chinese application form pdf, English application form doc). There are two application forms, one is the hotel rental application form, and the other is the youth hostel occupancy list. If you are traveling with more than one person, you only need to fill out a rental application form and fill in each person's information on the check-in list. The identity document number can be filled in with the ID number. Note that signatures are required at the bottom of both forms!

B. Make a copy of the International Youth Hostel Card or International Youth Card.

C. Fax the above materials to: 00853 2896 0115, or mail them to: First Floor, No. 7-9 Avenida John IV, Macau. Please note that the application must be submitted eight working days before check-in (counted from the day the application form is received).

Charges:

Sunday to Friday: NT$20 for a large room, NT$30 for a quadruple room, NT$50 for a double room

Saturdays, public holidays and public holidays Eve: NT$30 for a large room, NT$50 for a quadruple room, NT$80 for a double room

Foreign tourists can pay at the Education and Youth Bureau or at the hostel where they stay directly, and they need to pay MOP.

Response:

A reply will be received on the second day after application. A reply form (bmp image format) is attached to the reply. The form needs to be printed out and brought with you.

Office hours are: Monday to Thursday: 9:00am-1:00pm, 2:30pm-5:45pm

Friday: 9:00am-1:00pm, 2 :30pm-5:30pm

Targets

i) Groups or individuals participating in activities organized or co-organized by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau;

ii) Local youth groups or schools;

iii) Non-residents holding the International Youth Award or the International Youth Hostel Award;

iv) Other local or foreign groups;

v) Macau residents (local individual tenants).

Remarks: 1) Our bureau will lend out the hostels in the order mentioned above;

2) During July and August, our bureau has absolute priority to use them for organizing summer activities;

3) Individual renters in Macao must hold a Macao Resident Identity Card and must be between 15 and 45 years old.

3. Rental procedures

3.1 Methods of obtaining and returning the form

The form can be obtained at the location mentioned in point 10 of these rules or on the Bureau’s website obtain. After completing the rental application form, it can be submitted in person, mailed or faxed back to the Bureau during office hours. (First floor, No. 7-9, Avenida John IV, Macau)

3.2 Documents to be submitted

3.2.1 Completed youth hostel rental application form;

3.2.2 Other supplementary documents:

Local individual renters: a copy of the renter’s personal ID card and youth hostel check-in list;

Other local groups: if it is the first time to apply for borrowing An organization must submit a government gazette with its charter and a copy of the certificate issued by the Bureau of Identification;

For foreign individual tenants: a photocopy of International Youth Hostel or International Youth Hostel.

Note 1 The calculation starts from the 9th working day from the day when the application form is received by this Bureau.

Note 2 refers to the 8 working days before the intended check-in date (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Macao public holidays). If the application is sent by post, it will be calculated from the day the application form is received by the Bureau.

Note 3 The calculation starts from the day when this Bureau receives the required documents (see 3.2).

Note 4 The calculation starts from the day when the renter receives the approval notice. If it is overdue, the relevant rental application will be automatically cancelled. Foreign renters can pay on the day of check-in.

Note 5: The application must be submitted 5 working days before the original date of use, otherwise it will not be accepted.

5. Fees

5.2 Payment location

5.2.1 Local tenants: Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (first floor, No. 7-9, Avenida John IV, Macau);

5.2.2 Foreign tenants: Education and Youth Affairs Bureau or directly Pay at the hotel where you stay.

5.3 Refund of fees

Except for the following circumstances, the fees paid will not be refunded:

5.3.1 If it is proved to be due to force majeure without being able to use the facilities. For example, the hotel may be closed due to typhoons, severe weather or other unpredictable circumstances;

5.3.2 Public authorities must use facilities due to emergencies or special reasons;

6. Period of stay

The hostel is only for tourists to stay for a short period of time. Each tourist can be provided with a maximum stay of 3 days and 2 nights. If the tourist wants to continue renting the hotel, he/she needs to submit an application for renewal to the bureau. , and this Bureau will approve the stay period based on the actual situation.

7. Check-in and check-out time

(Note: Our youth hostels are closed from the first to the third day of the Lunar New Year)

8. Rules

All renters must comply with the rules of the hostel code. If there are any violations, the hostel manager has the right to terminate their use of the hostel and the fees paid will not be refunded. Violators are also responsible for their actions.
