Qinghai Provincial Museum is a public welfare institution affiliated to Qinghai Provincial Department of Culture. The museum was established in 1979 and officially opened on September 26th. 1986.

It is a cultural tourism scenic spot of Wenbo Academy and the first large museum with modern functions in Qinghai Province. Covering an area of 1.7 million square meters, with a building area of 22,800 square meters. There are 9 main exhibition halls and sub-exhibition halls, with an exhibition area of 9 146 square meters. The core landscapes are: prehistoric civilization exhibition in Qinghai province, national cultural relics exhibition in Qinghai province and Tibetan Buddhism art exhibition, and won the nomination award of the fifth (200 1 ~ 2002) "Top Ten National Fine Exhibitions".
