Slides in Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon

On March 17, 2009, Hunan Province’s first Nokri Slide was completed and officially put into operation in the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Scenic Area. This Nokri Slide, which integrates transportation, entertainment, sightseeing, environmental protection and other functions, is built between the three scenic spots of Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon: the Sky Line, the Southern Hongqi Canal, and the Canyon Bottom Plank Road. The upper and lower sections, with a total length of about 600 meters, are invested and constructed by Zhangjiajie East Line Tourism Development Co., Ltd.

The slide is made of uniform granite slabs, which are then finely ground and polished. The inner groove is 45 cm deep and 50 cm wide. The slide takes three to five minutes, which is longer than walking on ordinary days. The trekking tour saves 20 minutes. It is a tourist participation facility built in the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Scenic Area, and it is also one of the humanized service facilities to alleviate the physical exhaustion of tourists during the tour.
