Niels' Journey to the Goose tells the story of a naughty boy, Niels, who doesn't like studying and likes playing pranks. Because he once played a trick on a leprechaun and was turned into a villain by the leprechaun. He rode on the back of his big white goose and set out for a long trip with a group of geese.

Through this strange trip, Niels gained a lot of knowledge, made many friends and met several vicious and insidious enemies. He tempered in all kinds of difficulties and obstacles, and finally Niels returned home, found himself and became a good boy.

After its publication, this fairy tale was designated as a required reading for all Swedish students, and it was translated into more than 50 languages and spread all over the world.
