Because of the construction of the new road, the old road in the second half has been basically in a state of disrepair, and falling rocks and large pits have increased the difficulty of passage. It is estimated that in the near future, it will be abandoned and completely lose the traffic conditions of cars. We can say that this crossing witnessed the disappearing 5200m Zavala Pass.

The story behind crossing:

Although there are a lot of videos, pictures and texts about the crossing process and specific route of Gnea South Line on the Internet, there is no signal along the route, so navigation can't use this, which is the focus of our attention. So, we use an APP for GPS tracking. Later, it was proved that the previous route was the old road passing through the 5200m Zavala Pass.

We checked the weather before we set off. It rained in Litang and Batang for several days, and we felt very uneasy. Plus on the way, the weather may drop to 0 degrees. You know, the altitude here is between 4000 and 5000 meters, so it is difficult to feel the rain and low temperature. According to the prepared plan, we should camp outdoors for one night. Considering that it is go on road trip, we have prepared tents and sleeping bags, which are quite cost-effective. They can not only prevent heavy rain, but also resist the low temperature of minus 5 degrees, but they are a little too big.

The blasting borrowed from the tunnel was changed to the big one, which was 20 18. The next day's crossing, two hard-core off-road vehicles failed to exert much ability. Before reaching the town of Lamaya (the last passing point of the voyage), the road has been paved with asphalt. However, due to the lack of people, we also saw a few groundhogs on the roadside. Turn right at the Great White Pagoda in Lamaya Township, and you will be on the road to the Eye of Nie Ge. This section of the road has basically hardened, and the local villagers are all driving.

It is worth mentioning that soon after driving this section, there is an excellent viewing platform on the left. We are lucky to see the whole picture of Shenguai Mountain here. However, there are two ways to reach this observation deck: straight up and steep down, and circuitous up and steep down.

Here, I drive a Prado. After many attempts, on the one hand, because the distance of the slope is not enough, on the other hand, because of the engine protection, the speed can not go up. Finally, I put Prado on a low-speed four-wheel drive and successfully climbed to the top. If you are on the right road, you can hang a low-speed four-wheel drive on the road, and you can easily climb to the top at a proper slope speed. Tuda's engine explosive power and plateau modified tires have played a great role in boosting.

Friends who come here in the future can walk along the bottom slope next to the road while protecting the lawn. When the weather is fine, the scenery here is very good.

Later, the eye of Ghani, because it was crushed before, is now in the dry season, and the scenery is not as good as that taken by netizens before. Friends who come here in autumn should be able to see the beautiful eyes of Gnea.

Go ahead, turn right down the hill, and enter the paved road to Batang. Pay attention to the road signs, there is a fork in the road leading to Lenggu Temple, which is also worth seeing. The road to Lenggu Temple is slightly bumpy and rocky, and ordinary cars can pass. On this road, we saw a small animal who didn't know whether it was suede or robe, and some rabbits.

A bridge is being built on the river in front of Lenggu Temple. Our plan to wade through the water to test the performance of the vehicle fell through. By the way, Lenggu Temple can open accommodation, 140/ room/night. Friends who are hiking or not in a hurry can consider living here.

Go back to the paved road for a while, pass by Chachong West Village until the paved road is finished, cross the river and go uphill, and there is a camping spot. A large grassland between river valleys, with snow-capped mountains visible from the top of the mountain, has a very good environment. It should be specially built for local tourism, with wooden platforms. No one cares about special circumstances recently. We will pitch a tent here for the night.

From the trunk drawer installed by Tuda, we found a mountain pot to heat the barbecue packed in Litang the night before. This avoids the situation that everyone can only eat self-heating meals. The moon came out very late that night, and under the starry sky, everyone began to play with LED spotlights. It can illuminate the brightness of the opposite hillside in the wild, which is really a sharp weapon for villagers to get up and work.

Although it is not difficult to cross the whole line 10 hour after the second half of Gnea South Line is paved, it is really pleasant to camp here. When you get up in the morning and look at the vast grasslands and snow-capped mountains, you can feel the feeling written in the novel.

On the third day, we walked on, and there was a long bumpy road, where there were also large puddles and continuous potholes. After that, you need to cross the mouth of the laborer Lombaya. This mountain road is very narrow, with azaleas in full bloom on both sides. When looking at the scenery, always pay attention to the road conditions.

I'm beginning to worry about whether the control will be affected after the modification. As Dao Dao said in the video, "The feedback of chassis suspension is very clear." On the contrary, when I beat my waist because of bumps, the genuine Nissan sofa is superior in comfort.

After arriving in Gemu village, I thought some villagers could open a restaurant or something, but as a result, everyone could only eat self-heating meals on the bus. By the time we arrived in Gemu Village in late June 2020, the road from the village to Batang had been fully upgraded. But unfortunately, a new road was being laid that day and had to be closed until 7 pm. We resolutely chose to climb the mountain along the track and take the old road. It is because of this road that we feel the last and really difficult Nieya South Line.

From Gemu village to the mountain, the road is basically in a barren state. We didn't dare to move on until we confirmed it with two younger brothers who dug cordyceps. There was gravel all over the road, and two big stones blocked the road. When approaching the altitude of 5000 meters behind, the right side of the road is gravel and the left side is cliff. Looking back at the video, I can't help but feel very thrilling.

After crossing the 5,200m Zavala Pass, the whole section drops rapidly, reaching only about 2,580m in Batang, with an obvious gap in the middle. The only way to drive is to throw my Prado some distance.

After a period of road construction and traffic jam, on the third night, the two cars successfully crossed the Nieya South Line and arrived at Batang County.

Looking back on the whole crossing process, sunny days are the luckiest places. If it rains, it will increase many dangerous factors such as landslides. After the rainy season this summer, it is estimated that the road can't be opened. We are very lucky to feel the dangerous and challenging South Line of Ganymede.

In this crossing, Tuda showed a very strong hard-line temperament and great modification potential. For example, when Tuda climbs at 5000-6000 rpm, the water temperature is still stable, and the power output is still smooth at an altitude of 5000 meters. On the way back, I couldn't help asking, how much did it cost to refit this Tuda? Daodao said it was about 70 thousand. I calculated the bill. The original car is about 240 thousand, and the modified car is about 70 thousand ... which is cheaper than driving that Prado. How many hard-core SUVs like Tuda are there in the joint venture brand? Moreover, the original car of Tuda is Liu Guo.
