China Tourism Day is a festival approved by the State Council. The festival is held on May 19 every year. On June165438+1October 6, 2000, Ninghai County, Zhejiang Province issued the Declaration of Xu Xiake Tourism Club, which was the first time that China put forward "May 19" (Xu Xiake's Travel Notes) in writing.
China Tourism Day originated from the beginning of Xu Xiake's Travels: "Ugly March (A.D.1665438+1May 3, 9), from Ninghai to Ximen, the clouds are getting brighter and brighter, and people are getting happier." The short 24 words at the beginning of Xu Xiake's travel notes left a treasure of cultural tourism for future generations. Xu Xiake was a great traveler, geographer, historian and writer in China in Ming Dynasty. When you open the Travels of Xu Xiake, the first article is Diary of Visiting Tiantai Mountain.

In order to publicize the significance of establishing China Tourism Day, the National Tourism Administration collected the logo and image slogan of China Tourism Day from the whole society from April 1 12 to May 2. The solicitation activities received positive response from the public. In just 2 1 day, * * * received nearly 4000 applications.
Among them, there are more than 420 image logo designs and more than 7,000 propaganda slogans. The entries are mainly from 29 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, Taiwan Province Province and Canada. The biggest contributor is 83 years old and the youngest is 19 years old. Most of the payers are students, teachers, civil servants and retirees, and tourism professionals also account for a certain proportion.
