1. Purpose of classification

The sports industry refers to the collection of production activities that provide various sports products (goods and services) and sports-related products to the society. The scope of classification includes: sports management activities, sports competition and performance activities, sports fitness and leisure activities, sports venue and facility management, sports brokerage and agency, advertising and exhibition, performance and design services, sports education and training, sports media and information services, and others There are 11 major categories including sports services, manufacturing of sporting goods and related products, sales, leasing and trade agency of sporting goods and related products, and construction of sports facilities. 3. Preparation principles

(1) Guided by relevant documents of the State Council. This classification is mainly based on the "Several Opinions of the State Council on Accelerating the Development of the Sports Industry and Promoting Sports Consumption", the "Notice of the State Council on Issuing the National Fitness Plan (2016-2020)" and the "Guiding Opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Accelerating the Development of the Fitness and Leisure Industry" The key tasks are to determine the basic scope of the sports industry.

(2) Based on the "National Economic Industry Classification". This classification is based on the "National Economic Industry Classification" (GB/T 4754-2017) and is a reclassification of relevant activities in the national economic industry classification that conform to the characteristics of the sports industry.

(3) Highlight the characteristics of my country’s sports activities. This classification highlights the characteristics and actual development status of sports activities in my country, and fully takes into account new formats and new models in the development of the sports industry. 4. Structure and Coding

This classification uses line classification and hierarchical coding methods to divide the sports industry into three layers, each represented by Arabic numeral coding. The first level is the major category, represented by a 2-digit code, with a maximum of 11 major categories; the second level is a medium category, represented by a 3-digit code, with the first two digits representing the major category code, with a maximum of 37 categories. Among them, the third level is the small category, which is represented by a 4-digit code. The first three digits are the medium category code. There are 71 subcategories in total.
