Wanquan County was named after the early Ming Dynasty, and it was called "Wanquan" because of its "dangerous terrain, numerous garrisons, comprehensive precautions and foolproof".
Wanquan county covers an area of 1 16 1.48 square kilometers, including 3 17.95 square kilometers of river basin, 200.8 square kilometers of hilly and shallow mountainous area and 642.73 square kilometers of mountainous area, where rivers, hills and mountains coexist. The terrain is controlled by geological structure, with the Ming Great Wall in the north and Zhangbei County as the boundary. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south, and the natural slope is between 1/30 ~ 1/200. The east-west direction is high in the west and low in the east, and the slope is between1100 ~1/200. The altitude of high school and mountain areas in the north is between 1200 ~ 1800 meters.
