One-day tour guide of Lugou Bridge: Thoughts on one-day tour of Lugou Bridge

Lugou Bridge is an ancient building with great historical significance. It not only showed the engineering level of the ancients, but also witnessed the atrocities of the Japanese invaders. It has a very important position in the history of Chinese bridges and is a veritable tourist attraction. Here are some detailed strategies to share with you.

Lugou Bridge is an eleven-hole stone arch bridge, which was built in Chang three years (A.D. 1 192). Ding Qiao in Jin Zhangzong was named Guangli Bridge, because it crossed the Lugou River (Yongding River), so it was renamed Lugou Bridge. Later, Lugou Bridge was repaired or rebuilt in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

As early as the Warring States period, the Lugou River Ferry was the main traffic artery of Yanji and a battleground for military strategists. After the completion of Lugou Bridge, it became the only way for southern provinces to enter Beijing and an important gateway to Yanjing. The unique natural geographical environment also breeds beautiful scenery. "Lugou Xiaoyue" has been listed as one of the "Eight Scenes of Yanjing" since Jin Zhangzong's time. Of course, Lugou Bridge is the most famous.

Come to the east of Lugou Bridge, next to Wanping West Gate.

Go to Lugou Bridge, and you will see the longest ancient stone bridge in the north of China. On both sides of the bridge, the dovetail deck is bell-shaped, and stone fences are set on both sides of the deck. The whole bridge is a stone structure, and the key parts are connected by silver ingots and iron tenons.

On the north side of the east end of the bridge, there is a monument and pavilion inscribed by Qing Qianlong, and outside the pavilion, there is a monument to rebuild Lugou Bridge by Qing Kangxi.

At the eastern end of the bridge, there is a big stone lion and a China watch on both sides of the top bar. The Chinese watch is 4.65 meters high, with an octagonal sumeru, marble slabs on it, and stone lions carved on the surface of the Lotus. It faces the bridge and looks as if it is welcoming pedestrians.

On the Lugou Bridge, you can see that the deck is slightly curved, with lower ends and a bulge in the middle. Piers, arches, guard posts, railings, bone-hugging stones and ornamentation are all made of natural sandstone and marble, while the bridge deck is paved with huge natural granite strips.

After the reconstruction, the original granite stone of the ancient bridge deck is still preserved in the middle bridge deck. After hundreds of years of people coming and going, the bridge deck has been crushed uneven, which is different from the vicissitudes of history.

The most eye-catching thing about Lugou Bridge is the stone lion on the top of the bridge whistle. It is said that there are 28 1 sentry posts on both sides of Lugou Bridge (south 1, 4 1, north 140). There are stone lions engraved on the stigma, with different shapes, and some small stone lions are also engraved on the head, feet or chest. According to records, there are 627 large and small stone lions on the sentry post of Lugouqiao, with 50 1. Most of the stone lions are from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and there are also a few remains from the Jin and Yuan Dynasties. These stone lions have been overhauled or renovated many times. Stone materials and crafts are mixed and uneven, which combines the artistic characteristics of various periods. Lugouqiao has become an open-air stone carving art museum since the Jin Dynasty.

The marble columns and railings of Lugou Bridge are carved with exquisite floral patterns. The marble guardrail on the bridge deck consists of observation posts and 279 fences alternately, with 140 fence on the south and 139 fence on the north.

Walking to the west end of the bridge, the decoration configuration is roughly the same as that of the east end, and there are also China watches. However, there are two large stone statues on both sides of the top railing at the west end of the bridge, which are very old and stormy, and the details of the stone statues are not very clear. On the north side of the west end of the bridge, there is also a monument to Lugou Bridge.

I came to the north side of the west end of the bridge to see Lugou Bridge. The plane of the wharf is a gondola, and the north is upstream. It is the water inlet, and the diversion point has been built, which, like the bow, accounts for about a quarter of the pier. A triangular cast iron is installed at the front end of each diversion tip, which is acute outward to reduce the impact of flood and ice and protect the stability of the diversion tip. The water diversion spire is covered with six layers of water diversion slabs, which is called the wind burning platform. The lower two floors are picked out and the upper floors are put in one by one, which not only strengthens the stability of the diversion tip, but also balances the bearing pressure of the pier.

The south of the pier is smooth, streamlined and shaped like a stern, so as to disperse the water flow and reduce the pressure of rapids on the coupon hole.

Leave Lugou Bridge and make a detour to the west bank of Yongding River. The long bridge is like a rainbow, and the river flows lightly. When visiting Lugou Bridge, the river under the bridge dried up and the riverbed was covered with weeds. Times have changed and the scene has improved a lot.

Go back to Lugou Bridge and come to the west gate of Wanping.

Tower height 1 1.68m, wall abutment height 9.6m, total height 2 1.28m, tower body with wood structure, single eaves on the second floor and three rooms wide. This tower and urn were not original, but were rebuilt by 1984, and the original tower and urn were demolished by 1958. The original name of Wanping West Gate was Yongchang Gate, and later it was changed to Magnificent Gate.

Wanping has been the gateway to southern Beijing since ancient times. Wanping Ancient City was built in the tenth year of Chongzhen in the late Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1637). The purpose of building this city is to garrison the capital. It is called "Gong Ji City" and was renamed "Gongbei City" in Qing Dynasty. Wanping County Department is located near Beijing Drum Tower. During the Republic of China, wanping county was transferred to Hebei Province, and wanping county officially moved here, hence the name of Wanping Ancient City. Wanping ancient city is a bridgehead-like acropolis in Beijing, so its shape and structure were different from those of ordinary county towns when it was first built. There are no streets, markets, bell and drum towers and other facilities in the city, only one main street. There are only east and west gates in the city, with both urns and towers. The whole city wall is relatively thick and strong, which is mainly conducive to defending the capital. Wanping ancient city is not big. It is said that the whole city is 640 meters long from east to west and 320 meters wide from north to south, with a total area of 208,000 square meters.

From the west gate to the east gate, there are things similar to the ancient city of Ming and Qing Dynasties on both sides of the street.

After walking along the street for ten minutes, I arrived at the east gate. The east gate is called Shunzhi Gate, which is 4.5 meters high and 4 meters wide. The tower has the same shape as the West Gate, leaving the East Gate and heading south along the Wanping ancient city wall.

1984 rebuilt the city walls, towers and urns, but we can see that the city walls remain basically the same. The foundation of the city wall is six layers of stones with city bricks on it, and there are cribs, observation holes and perforations on the outside around the city wall.

There are watchtowers and watchtowers on the wall, and there are watchtowers and watchtowers at the four corners of the wall. In the era of cold weapons, this is a well-equipped city.

1On the night of July 7, 937, bullets left by Japanese artillery and machine guns guarding Wanping County can be seen everywhere on the wall of Wanping Ancient City, which is shocking and history cannot be forgotten.
