Yanghu Travel Guide and Things to Note

Yangzhuoyongcuo Lake is a sacred plateau lake with abundant water resources. In addition, the lake here is crystal clear and the natural ecological environment is well protected. It is a great place for sightseeing and photography, attracting tourists from all over the world. Here is a detailed travel guide.

Introduction to Yanghu Lake

Yanghu Lake, whose full name is Yangzhuoyongcuo, is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. It is a must visit around Lhasa and is known as a touch of blue in the paradise on earth.

The driver will stop at several scenic spots along the way, among which the view of Yanghu Lake from the observation deck is the most stunning. Although the wind is strong, Yanghu Lake is like a calm blue ribbon, glowing blue and white together with the sky. If you have a drone, you can take it with you and it will be even more beautiful in aerial photography.

Transportation Guide

Yanghu is more than 100 kilometers away from Lhasa and there is no public transportation. My personal suggestion is to sign up for a one-day tour, which costs about 100 yuan. Because you have to climb Gambala Mountain to get to Yanghu. The mountain road is very rugged, with mountains and cliffs. It’s not that experienced drivers don’t recommend driving by themselves. If you get motion sickness, it is recommended to prepare motion sickness stickers in advance.

Ticket price

60 yuan per person. If it is a one-day trip, the ticket is included.

: Notes

1. When taking photos with a yak or Tibetan mastiff, it is recommended to ask the price in advance, and you can bargain appropriately. If you want to take a single photo, you may need to pay, because I have read the guide before and said not to take photos of their yaks at will. I took it secretly with the longest lens.

2. There are toilets in Yanghu Scenic Area, but they are all chargeable.

3. The altitude of Yanghu is higher than that of Lhasa, so altitude sickness will be stronger. You can walk slowly, don't run or jump.

4. There are only simple shops in the observation deck and Yanghu Scenic Area. Have a good meal before departure and bring something to eat.

5. The sun in Yanghu is also glaring with ultraviolet rays. Be sure to wear sunglasses, a hat, a mask, and remember to apply sunscreen.
