Hitchhiking: If you don’t do some things now, you will never do them again in your lifetime.
When I was 23 years old, after traveling through 6 provinces, 15 days, 36 buses, and a distance of 4,925 kilometers, I came back alive. Maybe the dream is far away from reality, but I bravely took the first step.
Qingming Festival in April is a good time to go out for a walk. The school has been sluggish for a while, and I don’t want to grow old like this and let my mind become more and more barren. A while ago, I accidentally watched a program online called "Ride to Berlin." There is a saying in it: If you don’t do some things now, you will never do them again in your lifetime.
After seeing this sentence, I don’t know how many people have the same feelings as me. Recalling the people and things we have missed, what else can we do? I can only sigh with my brother in the next bed on lonely nights. I used to be like this, but now that I am not young, I don’t want to miss one thing after another. I have to act as soon as I have an idea. Late at night, I started to send invitations to my close friends, one after another, but no one believed that this could be successful. No one really believed that I wanted to collapse. Even my best friend Gemini just said Sentence: You can try it. If you want to go it alone, just call me if you can’t figure it out! All this should be considered a reasonable thing. I am so lazy and accustomed to staying in school. I am bedridden every day and dota dota every day. Who wants to go out and get tired?
Let me explain first, I was a senior in college at that time, and I was studying in Taiyuan. As you all know, there were no classes at this time, and my only task was to make a graduation project. Everyone only used it for the painful graduation project. I finished copying it in a week, and I am the same. I am really sorry for my instructor-Mr Yang. The last train for graduation has not yet arrived, and there is definitely plenty of time. When people stay here for a long time and have nothing to do, they can’t help but feel some inexplicable fear. They will have random thoughts at night and suffer from insomnia. It’s a common problem among lonely students~
Since I had no one to accompany me, I decided to go it alone. I have always had a dream to visit Xinjiang, and I thought this would be a good opportunity. The initial decision was to start from Taiyuan and ride all the way to the Tacheng area of ??Xinjiang. Depending on the situation, we would continue to ride back or escape by train. This should be the end of March, about a week before my departure date of April 4th. This will be a strange journey for me, and I need to prepare a lot of things, including food, accommodation, transportation, and travel! The importance increases in order. Tourist attractions are found online, and routes are also helped by Baidu. Due to the economic crisis at the time, I only had more than a thousand dollars on my pocket. I definitely couldn’t go to too many scenic spots, and I couldn’t stay too long, so Choose some cities close to tourist attractions as bases along the way. For example, Yuncheng is a great place. There are many places to go, such as Pujiu Temple, the Holy Land of Love, and Stork Tower, one of the four famous buildings in China... Another example is Xianyang, which has museums and many imperial tombs of the Han and Tang dynasties. ... Tianshui is not bad either. The name sounds good to me. There are Maijishan Grottoes, Fuxi Temple... and Lanzhou, the beauties of Jiaotong University, the famous Waterwheel Expo Park... and Xining, I went to Qinghai. I have no regrets in my life... There are so many places I can go, it’s impossible to list them all. But when it comes to taking action, I actually don’t have time to go to many places. Mainly because of limited energy and lack of physical strength, and secondly because of the lack of money. not much. Tickets for scenic spots must be checked in advance, which is definitely the biggest expense. Fortunately, I am still a student and travel with a certificate. Basically, half-tickets are available in places that collect tickets. I also have to check the bus routes in advance. I suffered a big loss in this regard. ! You also need to know the introduction of scenic spots, opening hours, etc. In fact, these are small things, and everyone who has traveled should know it.
The next thing to consider is the issue of ride-hailing. This is the highlight. For several days, I read many similar reports on the Internet and collected the experiences of relevant experts. I printed them into small Booklet, put it in your school bag. Where to catch a ride? Take the highway! When driving long distances, many drivers will choose highways, which are fully enclosed and fast, so there should be more cars in those places, at least that’s what I thought at first~~ The only places where you can hitchhike on highways are entrances or service areas , so I marked all the highways between cities on Baidu Map (I later learned that many times I hitchhiked on the Dayun Expressway, Lianhuo Expressway G30, Beijing-Tibet Expressway and other expressways~ ~~). Since I firmly believe that hitchhiking works, but not every car will go where you want it to go, and of course it can be dropped off anywhere along the way, I have to be cautious about it. To prepare, I cut out all the maps from every city and county I passed along the way to the nearby highways on Baidu. Take a look at the map below. Someone should be able to figure out where this place is.
All these maps are posted in a document and printed out. It can be regarded as my simple road map. The method seems a bit crude! In the days leading up to my departure, I was in my dormitory every day, facing the computer screen, and almost a quarter of China's territory was included in my document~
As for accommodation and meals , I think it's pretty simple for me, I'm a very casual person.
However, the priority is to ensure safety. The International Youth Hostel is definitely the best choice for people like us. For this reason, I also supplemented this knowledge on the Internet, but I am really poor. I found that young people who pay tens of dollars I couldn't afford to stay in a hostel, so I turned my attention to a small guest house near the bus station. It turned out to be a very good choice. The train station and bus station are both publicly owned, and there are usually state-owned guest houses, which are very formal. You can rent a single room or a bed. The price is very cheap, but the attitude is not very good.
It is best not to stay in those small private hotels. They are unsafe and unhygienic, and you will suffer a lot if you encounter stingy bosses!
Well, that’s almost it. Let me see if there’s anything else missing? How about we set off...
