What do unknown monsters have?

There is a black object with a long tail on the sparkling sea, which was recorded in the log book by the second mate on the Ford Salqianbury. That's 1902, 10,1October 28th, before dawn. When I was sailing in the Atlantic Ocean near the equator, it looked as if there were two bright masthead lights, also like steamboat lights. But Remo thinks that black thing is some kind of luminous whale, because when they get close to it, it sinks into the water.

Near the water mark left by the object, Reina saw it again, or should I say, it had a scaly back, when it was slowly sinking. As it is still early, it is not clear what it looks like, but it seems that its scales are about two feet wide, and many scales seem to have crustaceans. The widest point is about 20 feet, and the tail gradually tapers. Its body is about 60 feet to 80 feet long.

Remo also wrote that "you can clearly hear the sound of the monster moving forward." He also reported that "its wet back is covered with shining light and surrounded by white waves." A helmsman and a night watchman also witnessed all this.

London Daily Mail reported on September 9th, 1902. Although the captain is not a witness, when talking about his second mate in an interview, he said, "I can only say that he is very interested in that matter." What he saw in the water with the helmsman and the night watchman, according to their description, was a huge thing. "

On July 3rd, 1893, a newspaper named Tacoma Daily Diary in Washington reported a more bizarre story. The witness is a member of the fishing team. They left Tacoma on the afternoon of July 4th and camped on Henderson Island that night. They are not far from a large group of surveyors.

One of the fishermen said, "He was awakened by a creepy sound in the middle of the night (but he was not sure of the specific time because his watch and his companion's watch mysteriously stopped). That voice suddenly sounded in the silent morning, and then immediately generated a powerful current in the whole air, which made every nerve of the human body ache. " A bright lamp keeps flashing. "At first I thought it was a thunderstorm, but it didn't rain. The lights and sounds came from the direction of the bay, so I turned to look. " What he saw was "a most terrible monster".

According to eyewitnesses, everyone on the fishing team and the nearby surveyors "gathered on the shore" ... The monster slowly approached the shore, and when moving forward, his head sprayed a bunch of water, like a blue flame. Throughout the process, the air is always full of current, giving people the feeling that they are wearing a suit made of needle tips. "

A surveyor walked up to him stupidly, and the water sprayed by the monster splashed on him. "He immediately fell to the ground as if he were dead." Another surveyor tried to pull his companion to safety, but he was also hit by the current and fell to the ground. This scene was terrible enough for others, so they rushed into the Woods in panic.

But even in the Woods, you can see "sea monsters" (witnesses call them "sea monsters"). "Its beam of light illuminates the surrounding area for miles, and its roar (which sounds like thunder) becomes more and more terrible." However, the sea monster suddenly changed its direction and disappeared underwater in a blink of an eye. Although at that time, "it could be seen through the light exposed on the water", it was dark and people struggled to return to the bay. Fortunately, their two companions who were hit just lost consciousness and didn't die. When people waited until dawn, the two men regained consciousness.

Witnesses said that the "fish monster" is about 150 feet long and about 30 feet wide at its widest point. Its head looks like a walrus and it has six black eyes the size of a dinner plate. "From beginning to end, there are substances like copper rings around the body about every 8 feet, and it seems that a strong current is emitted from these many copper rings." There are two tentacles in the center of its head ... charged water spouts from it. What is even more strange is that "its tail is shaped like a propeller and looks like it is spinning."

But not all reports about unknown underwater objects are so bizarre. /kloc-there are some surprising but credible reports in the 0/9th century. For example, in June 1845, something happened in the middle of the Mediterranean. The crew of "Victoria" saw three bright luminous bodies emerge from the water and shoot into the sky. They stayed in the air for 10 minutes and then disappeared.

Professor Boden Powell published the testimony of the crew and other witnesses he collected in the report of the British Association published in 186 1. An eyewitness who saw this scene on land at that time described that these objects were bigger than the moon, and sails or running water flowed out of them. He and other witnesses observed these objects for about 20 minutes to 2 hours, and then they seemed to converge.

186 1 year 1 month 65438+2 years, a "huge fireball" rose from the sea near Cape Reyes in Newfoundland, Canada. When it rose to 50 feet, it began to approach a nearby British steamship "Siberia", which was sailing against the current, but then it retreated and flew away. This event has been discussed in Nature, Astronomy and Meteorology.

In addition, there are many modern reports about underwater unidentified objects, most of which are related to UFOs. But these "supernatural" sights may be submarines that unexpectedly appear in the real world. For example, in the 1960s and 1970s, the waters around Scandinavia were full of submarines, and some authors claimed that those submarines had mysterious origins. In fact, they are only Soviet submarines on spy missions.

The following are some more puzzling reports about modern underwater unidentified objects:

On the sea near the coast of Alaska 1945: At about sunset, a huge circular object with a diameter of about 200 feet appeared on the sea one mile away from the American transport ship "Delarov". The object jumped not far from the sea level, then approached the American transport ship, circled quietly on the ship for 2 to 3 times, then flew away and disappeared in the southwest.

North Atlantic 1954 Late summer: The crew of the Dutch ship "Grut Bill" found a flat moon-shaped object rising from the ocean. Captain Jane Boshoff observed through the telescope that the object was gray and surrounded by bright light. It flew away at an amazing speed. On the same night, this object, but perhaps other unknown objects, was also hit by the Honduran cargo ship Aliki sailing in this sea area. "Ariki" reported to the Long Island Coast Guard by radio: "A fireball was found diving out of the water, not extinguished, dragging white smoke, with no definite action route, and finally disappeared."

1955 September 17, Westchester, new york: At about 1: 30 in the morning, while Mr. and Mrs. Bodes were boating to the lake of Titex Reservoir for fishing, they saw an object jump out of the water a few feet away from their boat. That object is pink and shiny. Its size and shape are like a basketball. A foot above the water, it fell back into the water and disappeared. When it fell into the water, it made a loud noise. The Bodes were afraid, so they rowed to the shore. On the way, they saw two parallel undulating lights, about 30 feet long, floating on the water in the center of the lake or just floating underwater. Above them hangs a yellowish-white lamp, like a rotating spotlight, which seems to be attached to a vague and gloomy object in the water. The Bodes watched it for a while and even tried to get close to it. When they left, the object was still there. Mr. and Mrs. Bodes are sure that they haven't seen any other ships.

1967 10.4 Shaggang, Nova Scotia, Canada: Just before midnight, two men saw a bright red and orange light beam in a moving car. According to the report of Light of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, June 65438+1October 65438+February, "The beams are emitted and connected at the same time." Five people in another car also stopped to watch those beams fly into the water, where they converge into a white light and jump up and down with the waves. Many others, including a Royal Canadian Mounted Police, also saw these beams and sent many ships to look for them. "The Light of Yarmouth" reported: "Within 1 hour, those ships came to the place where the beam disappeared and found a large piece of bubbling water and foam. A fisherman described the bubbles as 80 feet wide and yellow, saying that he had never seen anything like it in this area before.

Biologist Ivan Sanderson combined the above story with the rumor of Bermuda's disappearance, and published a book called "Invisible Residents" in 1970, which tells that an advanced underwater civilized society-Points ("alternative intelligence") is often hunted by planes and ships to ensure that the secrets of its existence are not discovered.

Sanderson wrote: "They are likely to be several million years ahead of us, even 654.38+0 billion years. Their life originated in the ocean. " Sanderson's idea has no real evidence, but he keeps suggesting that aliens have bases in oceans and lakes, and their spacecraft are exploring these waters, just as they have explored the land of the earth.

On the evening of February 22nd, 1968, farmer Stephen Coyne came to the dry swamp near Lake Nahuyin, Ireland. Lake Nahuyin is one of many small lakes formed by rivers flowing through Kang Neimala. Coyne was accompanied by his 8-year-old son and his dog. Stephen saw a black object in the water. He thought it was his dog, so he whistled at it. But the dog came from other places. When it saw something in the water, it stopped and stared.

That object is a strange animal with a narrow flagpole-shaped head (no eyes) and a neck almost 1 foot thick. It swam in many directions, inserting its head and neck into the water from time to time. At this time, it can see two meat peaks on its back-sometimes-and a flat tail. When the tail appears near the head, you can see that this animal is very long, but it is also very flexible. Its skin is black, smooth and hairless. This animal looks at least 12 feet long.

Once disturbed by the barking of dogs, the animal swam towards them with its mouth open. Coyne stepped forward to protect his dog, but the animal backed off and continued to swim leisurely and aimlessly in the water. Soon, five other people from the Coyne family also came. The animal is still clearly visible, sometimes only five or six yards away from them. The animal was still there when it was dark, but Coyne decided to go home.

In the long history of the discovery of the lake monster, the experience of the Coyne family can be regarded as one of the most credible cases, while other cases are obviously fabricated and some seem to be true. In the Coyne incident, a group of experienced secret zoologists, including Roy Michael, a biologist at the University of Chicago, formed a team and interviewed adults and children who witnessed the incident shortly after the incident. They thought the testimony was reliable.

A few months later, when investigators trawled the small lake looking for monsters, they met Thomas Connelly, a local who saw the same or similar animals jump into the water from the shore in September. Investigators also heard that monsters have been found in other lakes in remote areas of western Ireland.

In this case, animals like those seen by the Coyne family are unlikely to be mistaken for whimsy. In today's world, lake monsters are often found. Some reports are considered to be fabricated (often very detailed and supported by photos), some can be reasonably explained, and some are mysteries.

Some modern writers who describe the lake monsters associate many modern reports (especially those about Scotland and Ireland where the water monsters often appear in lakes) with the folklore about the "water monsters". They believe that these legends contain evidence that can prove the existence of unusual lake monsters. But this connection is a bit untenable. There are only two similarities between the report about the lake monster and the legend about the "water monster". One is that they all live in fresh water, and the other is that many lake monsters are described as having heads like horseheads. To sum up, in addition to this connection, the "water monster" (known as the horse monster in the Scottish highlands) is another animal.

Many people think that the water demon is a dangerous and deformable animal. It can turn into a person with unkempt hair suddenly appearing in the dark, jumping on the back of a lonely tourist and scaring him to death or crushing him to death, or it can turn into a pony, tricking an unknown person onto its back and throwing it at the bottom of the nearest lake to kill him. Although the water demon is discussed in detail in folk works, there are almost no witness cases in reality, and the details about its appearance and habits can only be obtained from rumors and folk stories.

However, there was a rare sighting case that happened one afternoon in the summer of 1938. The witness is Mary Falconer of Arenas, West Sutherland, Scotland. At that time, she was walking with her companions near Lake Gat Biegel when she saw 13 ponies grazing by the water. Because she is carrying a big bag of venison, she wants to borrow a horse to ride the rest of the journey to Kanyik. She had this idea because she saw a white horse among the horses, just like her neighbor's.

But when Falconer approached the horse, she found that it was much bigger than the neighbor's horse. When she saw the water grass wrapped around the horse's mane, she immediately understood that it was a water demon. Just then, White Horse and other Ma Chong entered the lake and disappeared! According to the folklorist MacDonald Robertson, Falconer's companions agreed with every detail she said.

In the 20th century, lake monsters were often described as animals with long necks that looked like plesiosaurs. But before modern times, freshwater monsters were usually described as giant snakes with the help of photos and scientific instruments. These basilisks don't stay in the water all the time, so they are dangerous. For example, in 1636, the Norwegian missionary Nicholas Grimes reported that a giant basilisk originally lived in the rivers of Mios and brandes and swam to the sea in a flood. "It started from the river bank and crossed the fields," Grims recalled. "People saw it move like a ship's mast, overturning everything on the road, even trees and huts."

In recent years, the lake monster is usually described as 10 to 20 feet long, shaped like a snake and moving in waves. Snakes and other reptiles move from side to side, not up and down, but this wave-like movement of the basilisk has not been mentioned in many reports. Although this account is rough, it is not serious to publish it in the local newspaper. Michael and many other trained mysterious zoologists agree that this description of the lake monster is consistent with that of Zu groton, a primitive snake-like whale that has disappeared.

Legends about the appearance of lake monsters spread all over the world, but there are few records. 1979 The spring issue of Pursuit magazine lists 300 lakes once haunted by water monsters. However, many lakes are considered to be haunted by water monsters, which are completely based on some newspaper reports and exaggerated descriptions of some explorers in the19th century, so the statistics of this magazine are not reliable.

Except for North America and the British Isles, most of the surveys focused on lakes in Scandinavia, especially Norway. As these efforts failed to reach any reliable conclusion, the accounts of some witnesses became credible and impressive. Most of the evidence obtained by tools comes from Loch Ness, which has been investigated since 1930s and continues to this day. The preserved films, photos and sonar tracking records have aroused people's great concern about the Loch Ness monster, and strongly proved that something unusual is happening in Scotland's most famous lake.
