Changxing Ginkgo culture has a long history: Legend has it that when Emperor Guangwu of the Han Dynasty Liu Xiu was on the run, he roasted and ate ginkgo in Badujie to satisfy his hunger. Later, someone praised him in a poem: "Dark gray and light fire meet slightly, and the small bitterness is slightly sweet." The rhyme is the highest, but a chicken head may not be like a duck's feet, so ginkgo may as well accompany golden peaches." After Chen Baxian, a native of Changxing, became the emperor, he personally planted a ginkgo tree in Ruo Temple in the imperial countryside, and went to Badujiesi Shentan to fish for arowana; ginkgo, The people of Changxing were originally called Ginkgo. During the Song Dynasty, Changxing Ginkgo was paid tribute. The emperor saw that it looked like a small apricot and was as white as silver, so he gave it the name Ginkgo. The emperor's dragon chair of the Northern Song Dynasty was made of 12 ginkgo boards from all over the world. Among them, the Changxing ginkgo was specially made into the chair surface because of its fine wood.

Changxing Ginkgo has unique functions of improving immunity, inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, and anti-aging. When ginkgo grows into a forest, it can release a type of hydrogen that enters the human body through the respiratory tract and skin, thus playing an anti-cancer role. There are many long-lived elderly people in Badujie, and elderly people in their 70s rarely have age spots on their faces. At present, there are more than 2,700 ancient ginkgo trees in the Shili Ancient Ginkgo Corridor that are over 100 years old, 376 over 300 years old, 11 over 500 years old, and 5 over 1,000 years old. In Fangyi Village Ancient Ginkgo Park, there is a male ginkgo tree that is more than 1,300 years old, known as the "Ancient Ginkgo King"; in Xujia Village, there is a female ginkgo tree that is more than 1,400 years old, known as the "Ancient Ginkgo Queen."
