It took 10 days to drive from Beijing to Changbai Mountain and Hulunbuir Grassland in early August

I have previously recommended a travel route from Hulunbuir to the grassland and then to Changbai Mountain. This time it is from Changbai Mountain to Hulunbuir Grassland. The route is a good one, going in a counter-clockwise circle and covering a round trip of about 4,800 kilometers.

1. From Beijing to Changbai Mountain. (About 1100 kilometers) (two days)

Depart from Beijing and drive northeast along the Beijing-Harbin Expressway. After passing Shenyang, take Jishen Expressway to Fushun and then enter Futong Expressway. Pass through Tonghua and enter Heda Expressway. When arriving at Fusong County, turn right onto Fuchang Expressway to reach Changbai Mountain Scenic Area. You should take appropriate rest, pay attention to safety, and prevent fatigue driving.

Second, visit Changbai Mountain. (Two days)

There are three routes to visit Changbai Mountain, namely the North Gate, the West Slope and the South Slope. The north slope is dedicated to climbing to the top to see Tianchi; after taking an environmentally friendly car to the top, the south slope must return to the original car. There are many vehicles on the west slope, usually one every 20 minutes.

3. Changbai Mountain to Hulunbuir. (About 1,200 kilometers) (two days)

Visit Changchun, Songyuan, Daqing, Qiqihar to Hulunbuir.

Four. Visit Hulunbuir Grassland (about 300 kilometers) (two days)

Starting from Hulunbuir, take Provincial Highway 201 to the northeast, pass the Nongken Gas Station, turn left onto County Road 905, cross the prairie, and visit the grassland scenery. After arriving at Team 12 of Hadatu Ranch on the Sino-Russian border, turn left onto County Road 904 and drive along the Sino-Russian border road toward the southwest defense line. Passing through No. 186 Caidai River, Mongolian Xilinhaola, and Wulangang, drive all the way to the intersection of Haiman Highway, and then drive west along the Haiman Highway to the famous China-Mongolia border port Manzhouli. Along the way there are Carr Wetlands, Mammoth Park, Great Khan Camp, and finally Manzhouli’s Terracotta Square.

Visit Manzhouli’s national gate, boundary monument, Sino-Russian Trade Zone, and Terracotta Square to appreciate the exotic customs of Russia.
