The "AAAA" level (referred to as 4A), the highest level of domestic tourist areas (spots) in China, will be replaced by the "AAAAA" level (referred to as 5A) with higher requirements and finer evaluation in June this year. 5A is a standardized quality rating system. Compared with 4A-level scenic spots, its rating standard pays more attention to humanization and details, which can better reflect the general psychological needs of tourists for scenic spots, and emphasizes passenger-centered and people-oriented. At present, many scenic spots in China, such as Huangshan Mountain, are making every effort to launch a sprint for the honor of 5A-level tourist area, the top tourist boutique scenic spot in China.

There are 187 national-level scenic spots in China, among which Huangshan, Taishan and Jiuzhaigou 16 scenic spots are listed in the World Heritage List. According to industry insiders, in the tourism industry, the focus of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan is to improve industrial quality. The National Tourism Administration launched the 5A-level scenic spot evaluation this year, with the aim of selecting a number of outstanding scenic spots with international competitiveness and truly becoming domestic benchmarks.

According to the relevant requirements, the establishment of national 5A-level tourist attractions mainly focuses on service quality, environmental quality and landscape quality. The management department of Huangshan Mountain has decomposed all the indicators into relevant departments to ensure that Huangshan Mountain is included in the national 5A-level tourist area. On the basis of the original requirements, one of the important tasks is to rationally adjust the layout of tourist toilets in the whole mountain and transform them into three-star toilets, that is, all tourist toilets must meet the standards of three-star hotel toilets, and the transformation work will be completed before August this year. The interior design and appearance of tourist public toilets adhere to the two principles of "people-oriented" and "harmony with the surrounding landscape", and do not unilaterally pursue luxury, but pay attention to the convenience and practicality of toilets. All toilets are equipped with water heaters, flushers, safety handrails, background music, green potted plants and more facilities for the disabled. At the same time, Huangshan Quanshan public toilet will be built into a water-saving healthy toilet, paying attention to ecological protection. After the renovation of public toilets in key scenic spots such as major mountain gates and Ciguang Pavilion, tourists can not only enjoy wonderful light music while entering the toilet, but also watch Huangshan scenery films and tourist information from specially set video screens.

It is understood that the establishment of 5A-level scenic spots is still in the pilot stage in China, and the relevant state departments will strictly control the number of applications.
