Lijiang Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Area was listed as a national key scenic spot on 1988. Lijiang Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Area has undergone initial construction and the scope of 1996 has been adjusted, including Yulong Snow Mountain, Lugu Lake, Laojun Mountain-Liming and Tiger Leaping Gorge in Jinsha River. In May 2007, Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Spot in Lijiang City was awarded the first batch of 5A-level tourist attractions in China.

The developed tourist attractions (spots) of Yulong Snow Mountain mainly include: Glacier Park, Ganhaizi, Blue Moon Valley, Yunshan Ping and Maoniuping.

Ganhaizi, located at the eastern foot of Yulong Snow Mountain, was originally an alpine glacial lake. Later, due to the rising snow line, the accumulated water decreased or even dried up. It is called "dry Haizi" and is a plateau meadow surrounded by mountains on three sides. The whole meadow is about 4km long and1.5km wide.

The snow and ice of Yulong Snow Mountain melted into river water and passed through a valley at the eastern foot of the snowy mountain, because the moon was reflected in the blue lagoon against the blue sky, and the blue moon valley in the Lost Horizon written by British writer Hilton was similar. Hence the name "Blue Moon Valley".

The rivers in Blue Moon Valley are blocked by mountains, forming four major water surfaces, which are called Yuye Lake, Jingtan Lake, Blue Moon Lake and Tingtao Lake. The shore of the lake is surrounded by lush vegetation, and behind it is the snow peak in the distance.

The ski resort is located under the steep slope of Fan, with an altitude of 4500-4700 meters. It snows in all seasons, with the east-west length of 1000 meters and the north-south width of 600 meters. Good snow quality, suitable for skiing all year round. It is the warmest ski resort in the world and the longest ski resort in China in a year.

From Ganhaizi to Yunshan Ping, there is a ravine with dense forests, a clear long stream and a clear long stream at the bottom of the valley, which is called Baishui River. Because the riverbed and platform are composed of white marble and Carboniferous stone fragments, they are gray. The clear spring flows through the stone, which is also white, hence the name "Baishui River". The water of Baishui River comes from the melting water of glaciers and snowfields at a height of four or five kilometers.

Yunshanping is a forest grassland in the east of Yulong Snow Mountain at an altitude of 3,240 meters, with an altitude of about 0.5 square kilometers and an altitude of about 3,000 meters. In Naxi Dongba's classic Lulu Banrao, Yunshan Ping was once described as an ideal paradise with white deer as a plow cow, red tiger as a mount, pheasants to announce the dawn, white snow to make wine, golden fruits full of trees and clean flies, that is, the legendary "Yulong third country" in Naxi.
