Who are the aborigines on Saipan? What is their mother tongue?

Saipan: Chamorro people and Caronia people, short and slightly black, are indigenous. However, it is rare to see pure indigenous people now. Most of the indigenous people we see today are Spanish, German, Japanese and other mixed-race. In the past two years, China people, Filipinos and Koreans have obvious growth trends. Most tourists are Japanese and Koreans.

The local official language is English, and the indigenous language is Chamorro, which is a part of Austronesian language family. Austronesian languages include Malay Peninsula, Madagascar, Taiwan Province Province, Indonesia, New Guinea, Micronesia, Polynesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and New Zealand. Chamorro language is also very close to Indonesian, Malaysian, Taiwan Province paiwan and Filipino dialects in grammar and vocabulary.

More than 80% Chamorro language originated from Spain, which is the result of centuries of Spanish rule over Mariana Islands. However, the grammatical structure belongs to Austronesian language family, and the Spanish pronunciation has been changed to Chamorro pronunciation, which is very special.

Chamorro has never been replaced by Spanish, which has been widely used, which is very rare in a region ruled by different governments for a long time. Because of Chamorro women, Chamorro language has been passed down to this day, because they still use this dialect at home after such a long period of rule.
