When is the low season for tourism in Lijiang?

The off-season for tourism in Lijiang is from March to April, September, and November to January of the following year.

Lijiang has a plateau southwest monsoon climate, with low temperatures and a large temperature difference between day and night. Most areas in Lijiang have warm winters and cool summers. The annual average temperature is 12.6℃～19.8℃, the average temperature of the hottest month is 18.1℃～25.7℃, and the average temperature of the coldest month is 4℃～11.7℃. The annual temperature difference is small, but the daily temperature difference is large. The annual extreme maximum temperature is 25.1 degrees and the minimum temperature is -27.4 degrees. The rainy season is from May to October every year, with special concentration in July and August.

Biological resources are rich, with more than 13,000 species of plants, accounting for 70% of the plant species in Yunnan Province. Yunnan’s eight famous flowers and national protected plants are involucrata, yew, cephalopod, torreya, ginkgo, etc. It is widely distributed in Lijiang. A Sino-British cooperative reconstruction project, the Lijiang Alpine Botanic Garden jointly built by Lijiang and the Royal Botanic Gardens of Edinburgh, UK, laid the foundation stone on May 18, 2001.

Lijiang is one of the key forest areas in Yunnan Province, with 1.5 million hectares of forestry land and a forest coverage rate of 40.3%. 98.2% of Lijiang's land area belongs to the Jinsha River Basin, which is a key area for the implementation of natural protection projects in China.
