Two-day tour from Beijing to Datong
Datong is far from Beijing, and it takes about 4 hours by car, so it is suggested that if you go on weekends, you can drive there on Friday night and live in a big house that night, which can save half a day. This is the schedule for the next two days.
The first morning: I was in a hurry to open the Datong Museum in the morning. I want to visit for three hours, so that I can not only appreciate the charm of many treasures, but also get a thorough and comprehensive understanding of Datong's history.
There are also many places of interest in Datong, which is an outline of our trip to Datong. If you visit the museum soon, you can also visit a Hokkeji in the morning to see the old pagoda and the newly painted but beautiful murals. If you are slow to visit the museum, you can only visit this place in the morning.
The first afternoon: I recommend going to Yungang Grottoes in the afternoon. Because the scenic spot is very large, I suggest you spend an afternoon in Yungang to take a closer look at various statues and murals and appreciate the mystery of the smile of the Northern Wei Dynasty and the Excellence of the western customs.
The next morning: In the morning, I recommend two temples, Shanhua Temple and Huayan Temple, which are precious relics of Liao Dynasty. They are not only precious buildings, but also murals and colored sculptures of the Liao Dynasty, which are also the treasures of our country.
The next afternoon: If you feel tired in the afternoon, you can go back to Beijing. If you still want to visit, you can visit the Tang Ming site in Datong and the Northern Dynasties Museum.
On the first morning, you can take a through train from the railway station to Yungang Grottoes. Yungang Grottoes is not only a national 5A-level tourist attraction, but also a world heritage list. There are many caves and niches of different shapes, large and small, and countless stone statues.
Here, you can feel the beautiful "images" left by the ancients for thousands of years, as if telling people around you.
In the afternoon, Huayan Temple is a good choice for you. Here, you can feel the grandeur of temple architecture in Liao and Jin Dynasties. Especially in Huayan Temple, you can go upstairs, where you can see the distance and feel relaxed and happy.
Then you can visit the antique street and feel the historical memory of Datong. Daoxiao noodles, Hunyuan bean jelly and dried bean curd, which are famous for Datong cuisine, are recommended. The food is simple but fascinating.
You can choose to visit the Aviation Temple and Hengshan Mountain the next day. Hanging Temple is a masterpiece of China architecture. It is the only unique temple in China that integrates Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. Only when you have been here in person can you really feel its magic. After visiting the Hanging Temple, the next stop is Hengshan Mountain. Although the climbing intensity is different from other peaks, the pleasure after reaching the top is self-evident. In the process of climbing the mountain, you must not miss the 18 scenery of Hengshan Mountain, and you will definitely feel more shock here.
Traveling from Beijing to Datong, the connection time on the road these two days may be a little tight.
It must be too late to see the beautiful scenery of Datong and its surroundings. However, you can choose some of the most distinctive and worthwhile attractions in Datong, such as Yungang Grottoes and Hanging Temple. And there is enough time for you to visit.
First, let's look at the time needed on the road. From Beijing to Datong, it takes about 300 kilometers by car and about 3 hours in expressway.
So you can leave in the morning and arrive at noon. If you take the train, the journey will take more than six hours. Relatively speaking, it takes a lot of time and makes people feel very tired.
If you fly, it only takes more than an hour from Capital International Airport to Datong Yungang Airport. You can save more time to play.
After arriving in Datong, it is recommended to have a short rest. You can choose a noodle restaurant and taste authentic Datong Daoxiao Noodles when you have a rest. Then, it is suggested to set out to visit Yungang Grottoes.
Yungang Grottoes are not far from Datong City, and the scenic spots are not particularly large. It takes more than three hours to visit all these places. After visiting Yungang Grottoes, if it is still early, you can also visit Huayan Temple, Jiulongbi and other scenic spots on the same day.
Among them, Huayan Temple is open to 18: 00 every day in summer and to 17: 00 in winter. Please pay attention to the time before you go. If time is too late, you can only give up the tour.
On the second day of the two-day tour of Datong, it is recommended to go to Hengshan Hanging Temple. If you drive by car, the whole journey is about 80 kilometers.
Because I have to go back to Beijing in the afternoon, the tour time on this day is quite tight, so it is estimated that it is too late to climb Hengshan Mountain.
Therefore, I suggest only visiting the Hanging Temple for about half an hour. At the same time, we need to remind everyone that the purchase of the Aviation Temple may be restricted during the peak season, and it will take some time to queue up.
