Historical evolution

The original idea of Phoenix Island project was an international passenger terminal, which was established by Sanya Port Authority. From 1996 to 1998, a full demonstration of hydrometeorology and environmental protection was carried out, and the approval of the competent departments at all levels in Hainan Province was obtained. The area of the dredged artificial island in Fenghuang Island was initially approved to be 1,2 mu.
