Where is Wushan?

Wushan is located in the northeast of Chongqing, China.

Wushan is located in the northeast of Chongqing, in the heart of the Three Gorges reservoir area, and is known as the "gateway to the east of Chongqing", which spans both sides of the Yangtze River Wuxia. It is connected to Badong County in Hubei Province in the east, fengjie county in the west, Jianshi County in Hubei Province in the south, Wuxi County and Shennongjia Forest Region in the north. The county seat is located at the intersection of Daning River and Yangtze River. It is 24km away from Three Gorges Dam/KLOC-0, 480km upstream of Chongqing and 0/67km east of Yichang.

Wushan terrain is very complex, with high north-south and low middle, deep canyons and karst development, with mountainous area accounting for 96% and hilly flat dams accounting for 4%. Wuxia Mountain Range is located at the junction of Chongqing and the north of Louhu Lake. It starts from Daning River in the east of Kuandeng Town, Wushan County, and ends at Guandukou, Badong County, stretching for more than 40 kilometers. North of Daba Mountain, the main peak of Wuyun Mountain is 2400 meters above sea level. Wuxia Mountain Range is the dividing line between the second and third steps of China, starting from Sichuan Basin in the west and reaching the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in the east.

Wushan county has a long history, colorful historical sites, rich resources and unique natural scenery. Wushan, the world-famous Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, owns all of Wuxia Gorge and most of Qutang Gorge. Wuxia is famous for its beauty, deep valleys and twists and turns. The famous "Twelve Peaks of Wushan Mountain" ranks in the north and south of the river, especially in goddess peak. There are many clouds and rains in the gorge, the frequency of changes, the beauty of cloud state and the strangeness of rain scene, which are amazing.

Yuan Zhen, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, wrote the eternal swan song "Once the sea was difficult for water, it was amber forever", which is a true summary of the eternal charm of Wushan section of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. Wushan County was rated as one of the "Strong Tourism Counties in China" by National Tourism Administration 17, and Wushan County is also the only "Strong Tourism County in China" in Chongqing. There are the world-famous Three Gorges of the Yangtze River represented by canyons and rivers. It is deep and beautiful, with exploration, leisure and drifting tourism as its main contents.
