A 400-word essay on interesting things about summer vacation: Going to Confucius Mansion
As we all know, Confucius is the first of the top ten celebrities in the world and is called a saint. He is a great thinker and educator in Chinese history and the founder of Confucian culture. Today, I came to Qufu, the hometown of this saint.
We first visited the Confucius Temple. Confucius Temple is one of the famous "Three Confucius". The Confucius Temple is a ritual temple dedicated to Confucius. The world's largest Confucius Temple is majestic and resplendent. Together with the Forbidden City in Beijing and the Chengde Summer Resort, it is also known as the three major ancient building complexes in China. In 1994, it was included in the "World Cultural Heritage List" together with Confucius Mansion and Confucius Forest. It covers an area of ??more than 200 acres and is located at the gate of Qufu City. The majestic and majestic old glazed tile house left a deep impression on me. It is said that the Confucius Temple was originally the former residence of Confucius. In the second year after Confucius died, the former residence was converted into a temple. The wells used by Confucius and the cypress trees planted by himself are still preserved in the Confucius Temple.
When entering the Confucius Temple, we first saw The one is Hongdaomen. Walking forward is the Dazhong Gate. A tour guide told us that Dazhongmen means to praise Confucius's thoughts as being neither biased nor crooked, neither up nor down, and right on the mark.
After walking for a while, we entered Kuiwen Pavilion. A peculiar cypress tree made my eyes light up. The bark of this cypress tree is curved as if there are waves floating on it. Legend has it that Emperor Qianlong was tired from walking when he came to worship at the Confucius Temple, so he leaned against this cypress tree and took a nap. The cypress tree was stained with the emperor's dragon spirit, and its body turned into the shape of a dragon's body. The tree was called Dragon Cypress. Echoing it is a cypress tree with a crown shaped like a phoenix crown on the side. Unfortunately, it has been destroyed by thunder and fire.
The main building of Confucius Temple is Dacheng Hall. The most eye-catching thing about this splendid hall is the ten stone pillars on the front. Each pillar is carved with two giant dragons flying among the clouds. They are all carved from a single piece of huge stone. The carvings are exquisite and clear, and the sword skills are strong and powerful. It is a unique stone carving art treasure in Qufu. It is said that when Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty came to Qufu to offer sacrifices to Confucius, the stone pillars were wrapped in red silk, so that they did not dare to be seen by the emperor, for fear that the emperor would be blamed for exceeding the palace.
The most majestic and glorious one in the Confucius Temple is the Apricot Altar. Xingtan is located in front of Dacheng Hall. It was the place where Confucius lectured in ancient times. During the Jin Dynasty, people built pavilions on the apricot altar. The square pavilion has double eaves and large yellow and vermillion pillars. Under the pavilion, there is also the "Xingtan" stele in seal script written by Dang Huaiying and the "Xingtan Praise Stele" written by Qianlong. Today, there is no longer the sound of reading aloud on the apricot altar, but the sacred atmosphere still lingers in the Confucius Temple.
