2015 Kaifeng travel guide?

Get off at Kaifeng, take bus No. 31 at five stops, get off at Xinggongjiao Station, and walk 310 meters to Hanting Kaifeng Drum Tower Store. This is a larger hotel and I asked for a high floor and quiet room, but the noise was still there on the 9th floor. After checking in, take a short rest and go to the nearby Daxiangguo Temple. We know this temple from the legend that Lu Zhishen uprooted a weeping willow. There is also a bronze statue of Lu Zhishen in the temple, but this may not be true. Xiangguo Temple was originally named Jianguo Temple. Emperor Ruizong of the Tang Dynasty named it Daxiangguo Temple to commemorate his ascension to the throne by King Xiang. During the Northern Song Dynasty, it won the respect of the royal family and expanded many times, becoming the largest temple and Buddhist activity center in the capital. Now the temple is very popular, and a high-rise library is being built behind the temple. Tickets for Daxiangguo Temple are 45 yuan. Walk out of Daxiangguo Temple and walk to Kaifeng Mansion. We were not interested in antique attractions and did not enter. There are several restaurants near Kaifeng Prefecture that advertise themselves as time-honored restaurants. We ordered braised noodles. The mutton in the noodles is no less than the mutton I had in Yinchuan.

After breakfast, go to Longting Park. When I was walking through Songzongyu Street, I saw a specialty shop called Tu Xiaobao. It was on the west side opposite the south gate of Longting. I really liked the decoration, so I went in and took a look. It turned out that Tu Xiaobao is an online Kaifeng specialty shop. It mainly sells Kaifeng specialties online, and the service audience is tourists who come to buy Kaifeng specialties and travel to Kaifeng. I followed the Tuxiaobao account that specializes in Kaifeng specialties in the Tuxiaobao store. From now on, I can buy Kaifeng specialties online. I don’t even need to buy Kaifeng specialties when traveling in Kaifeng. I can buy Kaifeng specialties directly on Tuxiaobao. See Kaifeng travel information, in one word, good.

The main attraction is the Longting Hall, which has a small history and has sages kneeling down to worship it. There are also Pan and Yang lakes in the park. They are quite large and have little scenery. The park ticket is 50 yuan. I didn’t stay long in Longting Park, so I had plenty of time. I walked along the Imperial Street of the Song Dynasty. Most of the Imperial Streets were antique buildings, and businesses seemed to be booming. We walked to the Shanshan Guild Hall to buy tickets and enter. Tickets are 30 yuan. I understand that Shanshan Guild Hall is a group rental house in "Beipiao" that was called "Bian Piao" in the past. It's just that the Bian Piao family is relatively rich, and they decorate the group rental houses in a sophisticated and luxurious way. The decoration guerrillas at that time were probably also seen on the roadsides of the capital, but these people were willing to work hard, worked hard, and had superb skills, leaving behind exquisite brick carvings, wood carvings and stone carvings for future generations. While admiring the three sculptures, I felt that the residential function of the guild hall seemed weak. There were not many houses to live in. Rich people should not sleep in Datongbu. I left the club with some doubts. After walking out of the Ming and Qing Dynasty buildings, we returned to the market and had a set meal and rice at a porridge shop near the Hanting Hotel.

After lunch at the hotel, go to the Iron Pagoda Temple in the afternoon. Just take a bus to the end. Tickets are 50 yuan. The Iron Tower was built in the Northern Qi Dynasty. The tower body is decorated with glazed bricks and its color resembles iron, hence its name. There is an additional fee of 30 yuan to climb the tower. In front of the main hall, there were people performing in ancient costumes, which was neither fish nor fowl, but there were not many spectators. The park is not small, but there is not much to see. Turn once and come out. Iron Tower Park is adjacent to Henan University. I originally planned to walk there for a visit. I felt a little tired after coming out, so I took a bus back to the hotel. We visited the Gulou Night Market that night. At 6:30, the music from the Drum Tower started playing, and a batch of food trucks rolled out one after another, each taking their place in their roles. We ate stir-fried jelly noodles at a stall, which was okay. Wontons have less filling and thin skin, similar to dough sheets. The freshly baked biscuits are okay.

On the third day, take bus 10 at Gulou to Henan University. Henan University was founded in 1912 at the location of the original Gongyuan. The two Gongyuan steles on campus are well preserved. There are also some early Chinese and Western buildings and large-roofed buildings from the 1950s that are well preserved. It’s almost graduation time, and many students are taking pictures in bachelor’s attire. The greening of the campus is very good, so visiting here on the weekend is just a good way to avoid the crowds in other scenic spots. Return to the hotel at about 11 o'clock.

Walking back to the hotel from a side street, there is a halal shaobao shop with many varieties. 1.5 yuan each. Buy one each of black hemp, salt and pepper, and double hemp for breakfast tomorrow. This sesame seed cake is very good, maybe this is the real Kaifeng snack.

As the ancient capital of eight dynasties, Kaifeng is not worthy of its reputation. Make some copycat historical sites to fill up the list. There are three scenic spots scattered around a water surface, Long Pavilion, Hanyuan Stele Forest, and Tianbo Yang Mansion. Each has its own fees, and the tickets are terrifyingly high. Even the Shaoqi Exhibition Hall has become a selling point, which is a good thing.

There are some places that I want to go to again, such as Beijing, Xi'an and Taiwan; I asked if I still want to go to Kaifeng? Just one word: No!
