Transfer in other countries

If you don't leave the airport:

Usually, you don't need a visa to transfer outside the countries mentioned just now. But one thing should be noted: when you say you can't leave the airport, you mean you can go downtown without leaving the airport, not without leaving the terminal. Generally, they are connected to different terminals and can go back and forth.

leaving the airport:

if you leave the airport, you usually need a visa from the transit country. There are two kinds of visas: transit visas and tourist visas. If you only transit in your country once, a transit visa is ok. Compared with tourist visas, transit visas are less difficult to handle, require less information and stay shorter than tourist visas. For example, a transit visa in Malaysia usually takes only 12 hours, while a tourist visa can stay for 3 days. If you want to transfer more than twice, such as from Beijing to Vancouver, Canada, to Toronto and finally to the United States, it is recommended to apply for a tourist visa.

Special visa-free countries

Some countries do not need a visa from the transit country even when they leave the airport. For example, if they transit from China to the United States, if they transit through Singapore, they don't need a visa. You can show the American visa and air ticket to the United States directly to the border inspectors. In addition, Dubai, Doha and other regions can also be exempted from visas.
