Latest news: According to the forest fire prevention and mountain closure order of the Nanchuan District People's Government, the Jinfo Mountain Scenic Area will be closed starting from August 19, 2022. All mountains will be closed until the forest fire red warning is lifted. The Jinfo Mountain Scenic Area is temporarily closed to tourists. The specific opening time will be notified separately. Jinfo Mountain is located in Nanchuan District, Chongqing City. Whenever the weather is clear in late summer and autumn, the setting sun makes the cliffs shine with splendor, like a golden Buddha shining out thousands of rays of light, which is spectacular and beautiful. At present, the scenic spot is open to two parts, the west slope and the north slope. There are cableways on both slopes, and you can travel up the west slope and down the north slope.

Entering the Xipo Scenic Area, you can choose to walk through the 2.5-kilometer Bitan Valley to the cableway station. You can also choose to take the scenic sightseeing bus directly to the ropeway station. After riding up the mountain, walk slowly along the Golden Turtle Chaoyang Trail. Along the way, you will pass by bamboo forests, viewing platforms, etc., where you can stop and overlook the peaks and cliffs. It takes about 1.5 hours to reach the visitor center. There are tour buses at the fork in front of the visitor center that can go directly to the north slope, but they are only available during the peak season. During the off-season, there are minivans operated by locals.

The mountains on the north slope are beautiful and steep. After taking the cableway up the mountain, you can also walk the remaining ancient plank road "Yongling Ancient Road" on the mountain. There are many natural caves scattered on the mountain on the north slope, the ancient Buddha cave is more famous. There is a huge cave hall in the cave, and the Buddha statues on the four walls look very mysterious in the light and shadow. There is an array of 500 Arhats on one side of the cave hall. You can walk along the Arhat array to the exit. The entrance of the cave is surrounded by cliffs on three sides, with mountains at its back. When the weather is clear, this is the best place to view the sea of ??clouds at Jinfo Mountain.
