Sabah: Meet the most beautiful water mosque.
According to legend, residents on the west coast of Sabah like to grow a banana called PisangSaba. This banana has become a well-known specialty, so people call it "Sabah". Located at the northern end of Borneo, Sabah is a famous holiday resort in eastern Malaysia. American woman writer once lived in Sabah for a period of time, and she described the scenery of Sabah wonderfully in her work LandBelowtheWind. From then on, the name of "Land under the Wind" spread like wildfire and became the most famous alias of Sabah.
To travel to Sabah, besides enjoying the beautiful island scenery, it is also a good choice to take a cultural trip in this multi-religious and harmonious city. In Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah, Malaysia, there are two largest mosques in the city, one is a state mosque and the other is a municipal mosque. From the name alone, the former is obviously more important, but in fact the latter is more famous, because the municipal mosque is the protagonist of this time-the water mosque, and its unique geographical location makes it a landmark building in Kota Kinabalu.
The water mosque was built in 1997, which can accommodate up to12,000 worshippers to pray. The four minarets and the beautiful dome of the mosque are very eye-catching. The white mosque is reflected in the surrounding lake, which is in harmony with the mysterious blue sky. When standing in front of the lake and gazing at it, it will be deeply shocked as if it had been baptized.
In the past, women were not allowed to enter mosques, but now more enlightened countries allow women to attend worship, but generally all mosques do not allow non-Muslims to enter, which is considered unclean. Because I am not a Muslim, I can't go in and shoot. I just went in and took a few photos, and I was kicked out. It's really a pity.
After entering, you will find a large indoor space, green carpets with mosque patterns, high domes with stars, and star patterns representing Islam everywhere. If you want to visit the temple, you must register in the green house next to the mosque, and then wait for the staff in the temple to show you around. Unlike most mosques, where women or non-Muslims are not allowed to enter, tourists are allowed to enter and take photos. However, before the tour, you must rent traditional Malay clothes at the registration office. The rent for an ordinary suit is about 3 ringgit. If you want to take better photos, you can rent more gorgeous ones, and the price is about 10 ringgit. Men wear white robes and hats, and women wear purple long-distance running with headscarves and can only show their faces. Children have to change the same clothes according to their sex before they can go in.
The water mosque is just across the road from the sea. On the seaside avenue, many local people are running and exercising. This leisurely life is really enviable.
Sabah is surrounded by the sea on three sides and the Kota Kinabalu coastline faces west, so every sunset is worth looking forward to. As the sun sets, the coconut wind bursts, and the beautiful cut image is a quiet landscape painting, which makes people relaxed and happy.
If this is really a dream, I-I would rather live in this dream forever, in this unforgettable land under the wind, always with a happy smile, walking by the sea blowing with Buddha and sea breeze, watching the sunset dye the sea golden, and watching a pair of lovers and children embrace and play happily.
