Longju town is a strong tourist town.

Longju Town was named as a "provincial famous tourist town" by Shandong Provincial Tourism Bureau. In 2008, Longju Town seized the favorable opportunity of Dongying City to create an excellent tourist city in China, vigorously developed leisure and sightseeing agriculture, and made every effort to build a famous eco-tourism town. The town made tourism planning from a high starting point, and hired the Tourism Research Institute of Qingdao University to complete the Tourism Master Plan of Longju Town, which laid a good foundation for launching boutique tourism and characteristic tourism brands. At the same time, the construction of scenic spots is also carried out with high standards. By 2008, more than 20 million yuan had been invested to build Zhanxin Road, Circular Sightseeing Road, Agricultural Ecological Park, Longjuhu Cultural Park, Purple Fruit Picking Area, Sandy Sports Center in the Yellow River Beach Area and other scenic spots, and a big framework of eco-sightseeing tourism in the Yellow River Exhibition Area was initially established. Longju Town has also invested heavily in the development of tourism products. Through financial investment, it has actively promoted the development of a large number of characteristic tourism products such as mulberry leaf tea, mulberry wine and quick-frozen silkworms, attracted social funds and encouraged talents to return to their hometowns to start businesses.

In 2008, Longju Town successfully held two festivals, "Purple Fruit Picking Festival" and "Mawan Watermelon Tasting Promotion Conference". Tourists picked more than 200,000 Jin of mulberries and sold 500 tons of Mawan watermelons, which promoted the healthy development of the local catering service industry and the brisk sales of mulberry leaf tea, Longju meatballs, Longju moon cakes, old coarse cloth, straw and other products, and realized the "double harvest" of economic and social benefits. In 2008, Longju Town * * * received more than 80,000 tourists, achieving a tourism income of more than 6 million yuan, and successfully entered the ranks of provincial famous tourist towns. At the same time, Xiaomawan Village in Longju Town was also named as "Provincial Tourism Characteristic Village" by Shandong Provincial Tourism Bureau.
