Review of Dunhuang Documentary
The first part: recommended by a friend, I learned that the documentary "Dunhuang" was being broadcasted on the Central News Channel, with the episode 10, which took 6 years to shoot. You can't see it waiting every night, so download it online. Before, my understanding of Dunhuang was only a little bit in the fur. I only know that I'm going to see this great masterpiece containing thousands of years' essence, but I also heard that amateurs just watch the fun because they can't understand it. So I watched this documentary with a learning attitude, in case I really went to Dunhuang in the future. But I really burst into tears after reading it ~ ~ ~ hehe!
Here comes the explorer.
The only feeling after watching the first episode is grief and sadness. Road flyover Wang discovered this treasure, which has been dusty for a hundred years, and reported it to the government, but no one cared. On the contrary, foreigners came to Dunhuang all the way with only a little money and brought many precious classics to a foreign land. When Chinese people realized the importance of Dunhuang and ordered local officials to escort the scraps back to Beijing, they only wrapped straw mats in wagons and lost countless things. In contrast, so-called foreign thieves such as Stan and Boscio are carefully escorted by boxes. Chill ~ ~ ~. What's more, after arriving in Beijing, corrupt officials actually pocketed their own money, hid the only remaining scriptures at home, and tore such a precious treasure in two in order not to be discovered. Sadness and anger are mixed.
"Most of the murals in the Tibetan scriptures come from Britain, and the rules are fine, while Russia is miscellaneous, while Japan is hidden as a secret, while China is scattered as chaos." See here, I think, I don't think those foreigners are thieves and liars, I think they are representing China to properly preserve these fine products. Without them, these precious things will only be ignored, lost and destroyed. Just now, if we want to see these authentic products, we must go all the way to the British Museum, the National Museum of France and so on. Alas, is this a debt? People come from thousands of miles away to get it, but our citizens have to look at it from thousands of miles away and repay it. ...
It is unfair to say that Wang Daochang is a sinner and a small farmer without foresight. It is often sad and frustrating that he has served Dunhuang for seven years without any appreciation or return. When this simple and kind farmer meets bosom friends, whether they are sincere or out of purpose, he always feels that these things he has discovered are finally valuable. Don't blame him, don't blame him, hehe!
Building in the Millennium
It spans many dynasties and has a history of thousands of years. There were ups and downs, but at least they were lucky enough to be preserved. Fortunately, Dunhuang is in the suburbs and will not be disturbed by war. So ~ ~ ~ be a low-key person, too sharp, and it will inevitably be destroyed, haha! (joking, joking, hehe)
Mystery of Tibetan Sutra Cave
It turned out that there were many treasures in front of the Tibetan Sutra Cave, but they were all destroyed by the war. What the world sees now is originally copied by monks and people. Writing with a small candlestick (insufficient light) and a brush (very slow), copying page by page, is really awesome! It seems that I am writing a page now, which is sour. Alas, it's useless, hehe. Taoists and monks, in order to complete and add scriptures, go everywhere to ask for scriptures. At that time, they all seemed to be walking on foot, with small bodies, moving forward in the vast desert, which was sublime ... Later, block printing appeared, and finally they didn't have to copy by hand, so now they still have to use technology, hehe!
Many ordinary people have given their life savings for the sake of Buddhism and inner happiness and security. This is a belief, a spiritual sustenance. This reminds me of Tibet. I heard that some lamas in Tibet are very bad, so I used the simple beliefs of the people to defraud their cattle, sheep and land. People who can control people's beliefs are terrible (it seems that this word is not appropriate, but what word should I use? I don't know, hehe). The same is true of Buddhism ... so the direction of goodness is Buddha; In the direction of evil, that is magic.
At that time, because of the lack of paper, it was strictly required to save paper, write on both sides, and misspell the word "exchange". On the other hand, we, alas, take our hospital and our department for example ~ ~ ~ I don't know how much paper is wasted every day. Children in remote areas have no paper to write on, so they feel guilty when they think about it.
Master unknown
"Craftsman MoXueQiao, is made by others. He is an uninvited slave and his wife is a government civil servant. " Seeing it now, I feel that those craftsmen, painters and carpenters are great ~ ~ ~ They live in the wind and sleep, but they have left us such precious wealth. Shi Xiaoyu lived in the Mogao Grottoes for six years in order to leave his own murals, learning the painting methods of various dynasties. Imagine ~ ~ ~ If he gave up waiting, there would be no avalokitesvara. "Don't give up because of failure, but fail because of giving up." So these six years are to hone his painting skills and test his will. His real dream should not be given up.
Chapter Two: Reflections on Dunhuang Documentary. There are too many impetuous things on TV now, and few serious films are made. Some of them are sincere but lacking, and lack of level is still a problem. In short, it's really hard to see good things on TV. From the first day of the Lunar New Year to the tenth day of the Lunar New Year, CCTV News Channel broadcasts the documentary Dunhuang. I watched that episode carefully and enjoyed it very much. I've always wanted to write something down.
In recent years, there are often some large-scale productions on TV. The so-called big, naturally involves a lot of investment, but not necessarily the top. Some of them are really nonsense to make some big scenes and waste money. There are also some people who are really sincere when they invest heavily. Because of the producer's level, what comes out is big and empty, flashy and difficult to impress people. In addition, in today's hype society, everything is inseparable from a hype, and propaganda words such as "shock and extreme" are overwhelming (if everything is like this, people are afraid that it has been shaken outside the earth! So the expectation of watching TV is really not too high, but the sincerity, level and realm of the documentary Dunhuang really touched me.
It is said that for this film, the film crew went to Dunhuang nine times in five years, traveling hundreds of thousands of kilometers and shooting nearly 400 tapes. In order to fully understand the inside story of Dunhuang, the producer discussed the manuscript with Fan Jinshi, president of Dunhuang Research Institute, and many Dunhuang scholars and researchers for many times, and then slowly reflected it, using the expression technique of playing a main character in one episode, with good shooting level and high-definition camera shooting. Many photos are very beautiful! Focus-what is the realm? I used to watch movies and articles in Dunhuang, and I was often saddened by the loss and damage of cultural relics. When people are excited, they are inevitably not objective. One of the main taboos of this documentary is that they are not objective. But the producer's view of history was rarely seen before. This documentary is very calm and slowly tells some stories, which brings people no longer disgust, but moving.
The positioning of the film is very appropriate, and there is no intention of promoting itself as a big production. Moreover, few special documentaries use Xu Wei's songs as their theme songs. Although "Far Sky" is an old song, it is still appropriate to put it in the title of this film. The long, ethereal and pious singing is exactly what this film wants to convey to people. The producer's name in the title turned into sand, and it was blown away by the wind a moment later, which immediately filled my heart with faint sadness. Dunhuang and all of us will eventually turn into yellow sand and be blown away by the wind ...
It seems that this is the first time to call a person who used to be called a predator an "explorer" (explorer itself is a neutral word). What the "explorers" did once became a deep and sharp pain in the hearts of China cultural people, but to be honest, after watching the whole movie, I no longer resent the looting of those cultural relics as before. After experiencing glory and silence, Dunhuang was discovered when China's national strength was the weakest, which was the greatest sorrow and doomed the tragic fate behind it. After the Taoist King discovered the Tibetan Sutra Cave in Dunhuang, he wrote to Cixi asking for protection. Some of the classics were shipped to Beijing, and some were taken away by officials, so it's okay. Afraid that things would be exposed, he tore the Tang Dynasty scriptures that had not been easily preserved in the desert environment for so many years into two halves, kept the good ones for himself and handed in the rest! Stein in England or Peliott in France, including the notorious Warner in America, cheated or bought or stole or robbed them, but they knew the value of those things and didn't spoil them (Warner destroyed the murals), or gave them to or sold them to museums in their respective countries. What about the rest in China? I can't bear to witness it, so it's better to think about those treasures as long as they are still there and protected well than being destroyed by their own black sheep! Apart from digressing, in my opinion, beauty does not exist because of politics and country. Beauty belongs to all mankind. I hate an act of destroying art to raise the price of the remaining art!
The architecture of Dunhuang has lasted for thousands of years. For thousands of years, countless painters, craftsmen and sculptors have devoted their lives to watering this masterpiece, so many people! Can you imagine? How powerful is the gas field formed by the spirit and efforts of so many people?
Many of those people's works can surpass the so-called masters today. Today's "masters" are too impetuous, for fame and fortune. No one will copy in Dunhuang all his life, just to leave even a mural in the cave occasionally. In Dunhuang, we saw many works similar to Wu Daozi's painting style. Wu Dai is in the wind, his clothes are flying, the walls are full of wind, and a grass comes out of the water ... The beauty of Dunhuang is directed at people's hearts. When a person is shaping what he loves, pursues and yearns for, it is impossible to be the same as what he does just for fame and fortune! Those producers are creating an ideal world, not painting and shaping clay tires! The Mogao Grottoes must have a soul. Its soul is a collection of the souls of all these creators and later protectors, which is why it is so moving. This kind of moving can definitely transcend religion and national boundaries. Warner, who has always been called a robber, wrote in his diary, "I am not a Buddhist, but the Buddha statues carved here are so beautiful that I can't help kneeling down" (this is exactly the same as when I saw the giant Buddha in Longmen Deer House).
I have been thinking about how to describe the beauty created by people recently. The word that comes to mind is "faint ..." I don't like what 798 people created at all. Those people are fighting for beauty or money. Beauty can be elegant and simple, but it should not be ferocious, flashy and tangled. In Dunhuang, the word "containing without revealing" was used to explain China's aesthetic pursuit.
The dance in Dunhuang is a special episode, which reminds me of the dance drama "Thinking of Flowers and Rain" that I never forgot when I was a child. Ying niang's modeling of playing pipa can probably be regarded as the aesthetic enlightenment of my ignorant mind when I was a child. There are always some things in our culture that slowly precipitate in our hearts and become our own spiritual home.
There are still taboos in the film, only mentioning Zhang Daqian's protection of Dunhuang, not mentioning his destruction of Dunhuang! How can the murals destroyed by Warner be compared with Zhang Daqian? The education received by China people has always been either one or the other. In fact, man is the most complicated animal and should never be one-way. So why not admit it? In this film, Wang is treated and considerate from a completely different angle, so why not introduce Zhang Daqian objectively? Dialectics has existed for so many years, and propaganda still goes to extremes, so people who are praised can't do bad things? Can't people who are criticized do good deeds? Why bother?
One thing that surprises me a little is that most people who protect Dunhuang live a long life. The 72-year-old Fan Jinshi is almost mature, and there are still so many scholars in their 90 s who are still alive. From this I can see that the original hard material environment will not let us lose too many lives, and the inner purity can be so powerful! Chang Shuhong, Duan Wenjie, Fan Jinshi ... Scholars have devoted their lives to protecting Dunhuang. These China scholars, who are poor in economics and have been practicing for many years, really deserve deep respect! A scene in the last episode of the film is very beautiful and meaningful: after the rain clears, a rainbow passes directly between the protector's cemetery and the Mogao grottoes, with a shelterbelt and a flowing Daquan River in the middle. Needless to say, this godsend bridge has been connecting the souls of those protectors and the Mogao Grottoes.
Choose a comment, which is beautifully written:
After the rain cleared, a clear rainbow was set up between the cemetery and the Mogao Grottoes, as if telling people something. Opposite the cemetery, it is a cave where monks practice in the north area of Mogao Grottoes, which used to be the place where painters lived. After painting immortal works that make future generations proud, those nameless masters lived in this low cave all the year round until they died silently. For thousands of years, their spirit has also guarded the world's largest ancient art museum.
There is no song at the end of the film, as long as music and music are played, it makes people calm and melancholy. ...
Part III: Review of Dunhuang Documentary. I just watched the large-scale documentary Dunhuang, which was very shocking and sad. I am proud of the ancient China people. I am used to watching entertainment programs, idol dramas and fashion gossip, and I am deeply touched by these deep-seated things again. These ancient and profound cultural heritages are the treasures of mankind and my rare spiritual food. Following the footsteps of history, I am lost in thought from time to time. I remember that I used to read books in my spare time when I was at school and just at work, but I don't know when I started reading less and more fashionable, which has nothing to do with classics, soul and impetuousness. Reading is impetuous, and people are a little confused and impetuous. Recently, I began to read in-depth newspapers, care about state affairs, get lost in my work and life again, and find a new direction, hope and happiness, which is very fulfilling. Life is confused again and again, awake again and again. In this cycle of confusion and sobriety, I am grateful that my family and friends have always accompanied me, books that travel through time and space, spiritual nourishment similar to Dunhuang, and time to heal all wounds and precipitate a wise life!
Part IV: Reflections on Dunhuang Documentary Recently, I watched the documentary Dunhuang, which was made with great care and regularity. I was a little touched when I watched it: because of the theme itself, because of the theme song of Xu Wei, because of the soundtrack of Zhang Chu and He Yong, because of the neatness of the camera, because Zhou Bing, Xu Wei, Zhang Chu and He Yong all grew up on the ancient Silk Road ... More importantly, because Zhou Bing has been making documentaries, Zhang Chu and Xu Wei have been making music.
Director Zhou Bing is the producer of Primitive Chronicle, so he has accumulated a lot of documentary production experience. Here I miss Chronicle, which is my favorite sub-column in Oriental Time and Space. Each issue will broadcast a documentary or feature film. However, "Oriental Time and Space" was revised first, then the host was changed, and finally the broadcast time was changed, gradually drowning itself in the screen. I have a headache when I hear the revision in Taiwan Province. Why do we TV people always have to modify it? Is the audience frivolous or are we more frivolous? Animal World has a long life and is invincible only because it has not changed. Unicom music was music more than ten years ago, and everyone still likes to watch it.
I like doing TV, but I watch TV less and less. Now after the draft, the star and the blind date on the screen, the waves are getting higher and higher. Documentary, more and more ugly. I admit that I am also a member of boring programs, especially entertainment programs, which are very lively and exciting, especially before the live broadcast. A beam of chasing light when dimming or talking to colleagues with headphones can stimulate my enthusiasm for work. If any plane changes its lens or director, I will feel very lost. The huge stage and team of colleagues are just like the Titanic, with colorful lights and sounds. However, after the program, the music still lingers in my ears. The stage was empty in an instant, listening to the sound of colleagues calling it a day, and looking at the dark stage, my heart was even more empty than the stage, as if nothing had been left, only passing clouds like hallucinations.
At this time, TV attracted me not because of the feeling of coming out of work, but because of its indispensable team spirit. At the same time, I miss documentaries.
Documentary shooting takes a long time and the shooting process is boring. The shooting cycle ranges from the shortest days to months or even years, which requires a certain amount of precipitation and patience. In the early stage, the requirements for image quality and lens language are very high, so the camera should be equipped with a big machine to get a sense of depth that small machines can't shoot. A big camera weighs more than 20 kilograms, and it takes several hours at a time, every day. After returning, the material selection rate is basically110 or lower. I can still remember those hot summers. We went to a place for many days on business. There were BT belts and chargers everywhere, and we made documentaries with heavy cameras and tripods.
Compared with the fatigue in the early stage, the later stage of the documentary also needs a lot of effort. First of all, the requirements for the manuscript are very high, because there are too many shots, and it is necessary to record the shots and the actual sounds one by one. We all like to stay up late, because there are many people in the editing room during the day, and there is no noise to disturb the editing machine at night, so it is very emotional to do the work. I like this process, I can't say why, although I am very tired, I really like it. At the end of the film, I could hardly keep my eyes open, but it was also the most exciting moment, because I could sit down and watch my work over and over again.
When I finished typing these words, time seemed to go back to ten years ago. Indeed, it is very interesting to find a meaningful topic, cooperate with the tacit lens, plus a humorous driver, work hard to shoot some days together, and then turn them into movies and give them names through our hands.
When communicating with colleagues, he said: "The older you get, the more you love watching documentaries. Watching documentaries quietly is a pleasure. " I said, "I liked documentaries when I was young." Only now, which TV station will give more time to the documentary?
I thought of Sunshine TV and Yang Lan. I don't want to say anything else, I just want to say: anyway, Sunshine TV founded by Yang Lan has created a documentary channel of human geography for us. Maybe she knew the fate of this channel in China from the beginning, but she is really a partier. Today, who will shoot the duckling like the story of the duckling?
Therefore, as long as Zhou Bing and others have been making TV documentaries, it is enough.
