Jianmenguan Scenic Area consists of two adjacent scenic spots, Jianmenguan and Cuiyun Gallery, with a total planned area of 84 square kilometers and a core area of 6 square kilometers. There are more than 300 scenic spots, including Jianmenguan and glass landscape platform.

On September 20 10, Jianmenguan Scenic Area was listed as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. From 2065438 to July 2005, Jianmenguan Scenic Area was listed as a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction.

Jianmenguan Scenic Area is located in the fault and fold belt on the northern edge of Sichuan Basin, which is the main branch of Jianmenguan Mountain Range in Longmen Mountain and belongs to Cangxi Group (Jianmenguan Formation of Chengqiangyan Group) of Lower Cretaceous in Mesozoic. Jianmenguan conglomerate consists of extremely thick purple-gray conglomerate and purple-gray mudstone.

Geological characteristics of Jianmenguan

The formation of Jianmen Mountain is due to the accumulation of Jianmen flood at the foot of Longmen Mountain in the northern margin of Sichuan Basin, forming thick conglomerate, which is known as the Jianmenguan Formation of the city wall rock group, also known as Jianmenguan conglomerate.

From top to bottom, the conglomerate layer changes from small to large, the gravel diameter changes from large to small, and the gravel mudstone gradually increases. The rock stratum is a monoclinic structure with uneven inclination to the southeast, with steep northern slope and gentle southern slope. These geological features have created the strange danger of Jianmen Mountain.

Jianmenshan is located in the fault fold belt on the northern edge of Sichuan Basin. During the Jurassic period, the mountains around Sichuan rose and the basin accumulated water to form lakes. Due to strong weathering and erosion, mountains provide rich sediments for lake basins, forming Nanbei Lake and Shuhu Lake.

During Cretaceous, Jianmen Mountain Range was located in the front of Longmen Mountain on the edge of Shuhe Lake. When Longmen Mountain was strongly uplifted, Jianmen diluvial accumulation and Jianmen conglomerate were formed. In the Himalayan movement, Longmen Mountain once again rose strongly and stood out again.
