What are the characteristics of Chen Shan Botanical Garden?

1, Shanghai Chen Shan Botanical Garden is located in the southwest of Shanghai, focusing on the collection, protection and display of flora in East China. Because there is Chenshan Mountain in the Sheshan mountain system in the park, it is named after Chenshan Mountain, which is about 70 meters above sea level. Climbing to the top of the mountain overlooks the park. In the 20th century, the south slope of Chenshan Mountain has been cut off due to quarrying. Now, the mine garden has been built on the original site of the quarry, which is a highlight of the park. The tourists walked down the steps to the pontoon bridge on the mine bottom lake, and the waterfall poured into the lake. After passing through the cave, they can come to the adjacent rocks and medicinal botanical gardens, as if they really feel down the mine.

2. The Botanical Garden has three gates, namely 1, 2 and 3. Among them, Gate 1 is the main entrance. Ordinary tourists who want to visit the whole park in the general order can enter from Gate 1. In addition to the mine garden in the north of the park, another highlight in the park is the exhibition greenhouse, which is close to Gate 2. Visitors who like photography can enter from Gate 2.

3. The exhibition greenhouse is located in the northeast corner of the park and consists of three greenhouses: tropical flower and fruit museum, psammophyte museum and exotic plant museum. There are small bridges and flowing water, waterfalls and cave decorations. There is a guiding arrow made of small silver leaves on the ground of the museum. Follow the arrow and you can visit. The tropical flower and fruit museum is planted with Phalaenopsis, bird of paradise (crane orchid), tourist bananas, palms and other plants that can store several kilograms of water at the bottom of the petiole. There are all kinds of cacti in the museum of psammophytes, some are as slender as cucumbers, some are as short and round as watermelons, and they are particularly lovely, and there are all kinds of fleshy plants with leaves. In the museum of exotic plants, you can see rare exotic plants formed in the course of survival and evolution in nature, such as insectivorous plants, cycads, ferns and so on.

4. On the southwest side of the exhibition greenhouse, there is also a blind botanical garden specially set up for the blind in the park. Because the shape of the area looks like a grain of rice from above, the theme of "one meter sunshine" is mainly for the visually impaired and the blind. According to their needs for touch, hearing and smell, we will plant all kinds of plants with obvious olfactory characteristics, unique plant morphology and bright colors, set up Chinese, English, Braille and voice systems, build blind roads, and set up telephone poles and rest booths suitable for the blind.

There are two lakes in the south and east of the botanical garden, West Lake and East Lake respectively. The West Lake is near the 1 gate, and there is a cruise terminal on the east bank of the West Lake. 40 yuan/hour for four-person battery boat, 60 yuan/hour for six-person battery boat, and deposit 100 yuan for each cruise boat. Sheshan can be overlooked in the Botanical Garden, and the observatory and the Sheshan Catholic Church in Xishe Mountain can be clearly seen. Taking the lake in the botanical garden as the foreground and Sheshan as the foreground is a good angle for taking pictures.
