In the 1980s, the eminent monk Jinmei Phuntsok of the Maning sect expanded his practice place and established a small lecture hall and meditation hall with 32 students. Jigme Phuntsok was appointed Khenbu.

In 1997, Larung Monastery Wuming Buddhist College was established. In the late 1990s, the scale gradually expanded, the number of personnel increased sharply, and there were many hidden dangers in geology, fire protection, sanitation, and public security.

In 2013, Luoruo Township, where the college was located, was abolished and Luoruo Town was established. Larong Temple Wuming Buddhist College has been incorporated into the overall planning and construction of the town building work. Through the town building work, demolition of illegal works, and standardized management, it has created an environment with orderly management, complete functions, and suitable for learning and repairing.
